This test is so complicated. There were too many circumstances that I found it hard to say just agree or disagree. I would’ve preferred a scale because it’s complicated with different situations. 32/50 and I’m definitely autistic so that’s awkward.

33/50 here. I think part of it is how it creates that dichotomy, but also that as you practice and get better at social dynamics, some of the answers would be different. And masking to be socially acceptable and incorporate is also a thing. I almost would've brought up my autism as a quirk at a team meeting at work, but I went with the cat whisperer thing instead

Nearing 40, I've learned a lot of these behaviors as a part of my mask. I have taught myself what social queues are in a lot of situations, but they did not come naturally to me for many years. I'm definitely on the Spectrum, but feel I should have scored higher if Masking/learned behaviours were taken into account.

Anoither bad question - When I’m reading a story, I find it difficult to work out the characters’ intentions. Look, as an author, and a long time reader, that is entirely down to the skill of the author. If the book is well written,the intentions are clear because the story TELLS you what they are.So what is there to work out?

I really hate those binary, either/or questions. They're impossible to answer accurately. eg:-If I try to imagine something, I find it very easy to create a picture in my mind. Yes or no? Look up aphantasia. I can't create images in my mind at all, but I can still imagine the scene. I just don't imagine it with a picture. So is that a yes or a no? Are you trying to learn if I have an imagination? Or if I can understand a scene from something I'm reading? Or if I can remember somewhere I've been? Too many possibilities exist to give a binary yes or no to such a wide-ranging and general question. (This is why I sent my AQ tests back to the GP with a LOT of notes.) I ended up half convinced that finding the test impossible is part of the point of the test.

It may me the best way and the only legally valid one but it’s always best to do as much research and introspection and retrospection as possible before the appointment, and even after.

@@Paper-Mushrooms I get that because I actually did that. With a psychic friend of mine who has passed, she gave me a free psychic reading on this online radio show. She told me the original diagnosis I had she felt people had misjudged & misunderstood me, but she felt I was autistic except that my IQ was genius.

I got 34/50 but several answers didn't really apply because in reality things are much more nuanced than "absolutely yes" or "definitely no". Best example : doing things the same way over and over. On a way, yes, because I need routines, I need landmarks and I need things to be repetitive and familiar enough otherwise I'm completely at loss and vulnerable. Like when my usual stores randomly decide to redo their layouts, I hate this, gotta relearn the entire place, it's confusing and stressful. That's why I'm not fond of visiting new places, especially alone, I need someone with me. But at the same time, I can't stand routine and will get very bored very fast if things keep repeating themselves, which is also why I never did well in school. I need novelty from day to day ig? And I think it's very difficult to give a proper answer, or even know what I'm supposed to answer when I'm basically like "yes, but no, but kinda yes, but not really" 😩 That being said, it's an interesting test, thank you for sharing it. Your channel has always been a goldmine and it's so very helpful 💕

46/50. Because I masked for most of my life, wasn't diagnosed until I was almost 30, & given VERY little help/tools after diagnosis (ie. "Since you have created your own strategies to survive society, there isn't much that could help you live better."); I had to stop multiple times to think what my inclination was versus how I've learned to cope (compartmentalizing)

I score a 45 on the AQ and a 178 on the RAADS-R but I don't think I'm autistic. I'm trying to find out if there is something else that shares the traits of autism displayed on the tests. I only have the autistic trains mentioned on the tests. Any time I hear autistic people speak about their day to day I don't relate.

I scored just under 33 lol I agree with the comments - some things arent clear. I love stories so if I’m in the cinema or theatre, when I’m focusing on the story, I hear and see nothing else, until my bladder screams at me ofcuz. I have found some museum exhibits can be boring as I have to recognise the story in the theme and be interested in that topic. World War themes are great. I have learnt to remember birthdays by recognising patterns between them. To remember a new birthday, I have to be able to create a pattern that connects that new date with existing dates I already remember. With the exception of my daughter’s bday - I don’t think I’ll forget that one but it did take a few months of paperwork to get that into my head.

I scored 40/50 every test I've done I score high ,still waiting for assessment, but have to say with an tests like others I've struggled to answer a few questions due to it being very open to interpretation and based on old assumptions . I.e I do 'read' people but not by words or face but by body language .I can sometimes guess a character in a books intention but it depends on how well the books been written. I do like the theatre and being creative I see in pictures as I'm an artist with a very vivid imagination 🤷‍♀️ They are very vague questions these tests need re-evaluation..but then it sounds like the NHS are planning changes according to the news today ,so we'll see

I' officially diagnosed and only has 32/50. Could be my ADHD, but overall this doesnt seem very professional. The questions in my tests were allowed more freedom, not just blank yes/no answers.

Got a 42, with my kids it was the same, but it is nearly impossible to get a diagnosis. They are only looking on mimics ans claim we are interacting. Yes, we do. We trained hard for it. Btw. I don't look into your eyes, I scan your face. I was 11 when first admonished to look into eyes, and I tried hard and never found the right way. As child I was bullied a lot, but as a grown up I don't suffer from being special after I found out that it's not a fault or wrongdoing but just the way I was born. So I will never get diagnosed, because suffering is a condition sine qua non in our country. It took me about two years before I understood that it is not only my second son who has no mimics and a lot of special behaviours no non-autistic person would show. But my whole family including myself.

28/50 and diagnosed with ADD. I always test on the cusp, except for on the Aspie Quiz which says I'm 83% likely to be neurotypical. It was helpful to see the reasoning behind your answers. I sometimes had the same answer, but a different motive.

It might be, that you chose other answers for other reasons. E.g. Get the question "party or library". I hate being lonely. I love research. But I'd rather join a friend going to a party than to be alone in a silent library. That being said - I hate big parties. I don't know how to connect with people. I can't feel the joy others feel. I hope, I'll find a friend and stay mainly with them and I have a nice time, too. Yet a party always is a huge distress. I need contacts just as I need food, but a party is a huge distress and avoiding the distress is a hard tentation. Why does it have to be such a dilemma? Why not just "library or see a friend"? During my studies, I had a great solution: In the library of my university, there was a place where many were to pass. Now and then a friend would pass, and we could make a break in the nearby cafeteria. That was the best. But - still - how to break this answer down to "agree - disagree"? Maybe you had more of this kind of answers that seem to be neurotypical but isn't. Other example - how do I know how good I am in memorizing phone numbers, when I have only a few numbers to memorize and my mobile phone hides them. These are not the times of typing the same number several times for several calls. As soon as I got the number, my phone furtheron only shows the name of the person. Professors now and then seem to live in a different world. Even more than we do.

I've seen this test in several different places and taken it a couple times, solid 38/50. This is the first I've seen it with just 2 possibilities though, it's usually 4. Still not very detailed but for those in the comments that I've seen who don't like the 2 options, Google AQ Test and go from there
