I really like to use MonBaby as the main baby monitor and I also took an ordinary video baby monitor in addition. Together, this is an excellent child minding, you can record both the physical state of the baby and the visual observation of what he is doing.

@Chris G go with the Nest cam. No batteries, quality is great, and is the top seller. Not specifically a baby monitor, but that doesn't matter. It's awesome. Other option would be the Infant Optics DXR-8.

Great info! Thanks for the help! The owlet saved my friends babies life. The baby started having a very increased heart rate and they were able to get the baby to the hospital in time and it saved his life. I have a baby on the way and want a streaming camera with WiFi and app integration.

You should also have a special mention for the Yi home security camera. It has baby crying alerts and A LOT cheaper than cameras that are basically the same but called "baby monitors"

Very helpful video! I hope that the constant stream video monitors eventually sort out the lag and low light issues. Our baby is due in 2018, hopefully next year brings some nice improvements in those areas. I like the set up you have and the ability to check in with the higher quality camera as needed seems nice.

Another good video, good round up and summary of the strengths. Similar to what I mentioned on another of your videos the ability to allow the audio and video stream to completely turn off when no sound is detected really is a nice feature. For one it makes the room dark and allows the mind to get that deeper sleep but two you only feel the need to perk up if the screen comes on as it detected enough movement or sound. Constant monitoring devices for me at least are not the best solution for getting rest which for me is the main reason for these devices. Not having to physically get up with each concerned moment means more deep sleep we get as parents and more refreshed for the next days parenting roles. Combining high quality video with more dedicated baby monitor features would be the best solution. Finding an IP camera that has the dual purpose as baby cam and then later home cam is ideal for sure but I really need that audio/video feed to cut out when not in use to allow me to get the rest.

Great video bro, we are in the market for a camera and we are seriously considering an arlo baby monitor for its features but you now have me thinking about the constant audio stream one. Thanks for the advice.

Arlo is a sweet camera. I think pairing it with a simple VTech as a backup would be perfect.

I'm a paediatric nurse, and I have one concern about the owlet. We have found that the form of light omitted by all pulse oximetry devices can cause a form of "burn" if left in the same place for long periods of time. We change the location of the pulse oximetry sensor every 4 hours to avoid this.
@dadverb6 жыл бұрын
Super interesting insight. I always had a lingering concern about that, but our son never showed any visible markings or discomfort. Have you heard anything from Owlet's team to address that? I'd be curious to hear out what they say.
@sweetasasourcherry6 жыл бұрын
I've never seen these Owlet devices before, and it is generally an issue I see with newborns, so I suspect if you've never had an issue by this point it is unlikely to ever become one.

Are there any options that have a monitor for constant viewing as well as the ability to view remotely from your phone? Thanks!!
@dadverb7 жыл бұрын
Not many great ones that I could recommend with confidence. Project Nursery's 5" Dual Connect system is a decent option. However, Arlo Baby is releasing a display monitor very soon so that might be the best choice for you. www.arlo.com/en-us/products/arlo-baby/display-monitor.aspx My review for the Arlo comes out tomorrow so stay tuned.

@@dadverb How about now a year later? Is it the Nanet? We were thinking of just doing a Ring Cam and using our phone or an iPad around the house but even then constant streaming seems like it'd be difficult.

hey great video!. I'm expecting my first baby soon and want to get the nursery all setup. I'm really leaning towards the arlo baby simply because of quality and 7 day storage. however, I wanted something that I can use after the fact as well. do you think the arlo pro combined with the vetch monitor like yours will do the trick or would the arlo baby be the way to go over arlo pro.

Really love your videos! Super informative! I've been researching for weeks now and can't figure out which would be my best option. I always read the reviews and some reviews make me immediately change my mind. What would you say is the best constant streaming baby monitor that can be used with two cameras? I've read that some don't last long or stop working after a few months. Others loose audio? I'm due in a few months and I don't know what to get. >.< first time buying a baby monitor but I have a toddler already and would like to monitor both of them.

@MBilal-nc6kx6 жыл бұрын
Hey there. Great channel. We are expecting in short of 3 months. Currently shopping for a baby monitor and came across your video. I have to say I am convinced with your setup. I wanted to ask, how is the amcrest still working? I do photography professionally so I am into quality for sure. Also, amcrest 2K seems to be pretty cheap for $89.99. Are you still liking the camera? Or are there alternatives you’d recommend since some time has passed since your video. Thanks.

We've rotated through several options simply for testing on the channel and always come back to the Amcrest. I still love it.

I’ve come back to this video trying to find an answer for my needs and it seems that this segment of products hasn’t advance at all in the last year. I need constant stream, remote access and multiple cameras, guess i wil hace to do a infant optics for constant stream plus an arlo system for remote and multiple access! Ant thoughts?
@dadverb6 жыл бұрын
I think Arlo Baby would be a good option for you. It can support multiple rooms, remote access and now has continuous audio monitoring while your phone is asleep so you can still have an ear on the baby. amzn.to/2CFlihf

I'm torn betwwen this camera and the nest cam. Can you please explain why you chose this option over the nest? Is the quality better? Do the Amcrest have to be connected to Wi-Fi?
@dadverb7 жыл бұрын
Sorry I'm late to this comment. From a quality standpoint, Nest IQ is putting out 4k, while Amcrest is 2k, and Arlo Baby is currently 1080. Nest IQ technically leads the pack as a quality camera. Both Nest and Amcrest function very similarly when it comes to cloud recording, etc. We bought Amcrest before the IQ was released and just stuck with it. I just have a personal preference to Amcrest's interface, price point, and the ability to record locally to a microSD card and not pay for a storage plan. Honestly, Nest may be the best way to go, especially if you plan to add more of Nest's growing ecosystem of products like extra cameras, doorbell and thermostat. Arlo may be the best "baby" camera with motion and sound alerts, but Nest and Amcrest bode well after nursery use.

Hi, I recently wanted to buy a camera to vlog my baby and found that Samsung NX mini has a baby monitor feature, but I could not find any review of this product as a baby monitor. I do not have high hope that it will have night vision. However, my baby sleeps with me in the same room so I do not really need a baby monitor. I just think it might be helpful when she is napping and I am in the other room and then I could use it as a camera to vlog when she's awake. Could you do a review on that? Please and thank you!

As an engineer one effect of anything that transmit a frequency is radiation. Constant transmission of this over a prolong period of time does have a negative impact on a person. Especially a baby.
