That is an awesome idea. I do a ton of round-up jobs, but I can not pull a lawn care hose from the truck across good turf to do it and a standard backpack with a standard sprayer nozzle is slow and not efficient, your 1 gallon per minute chem lawn nozzle looks perfect. Great idea.

I use my flow zone v2 for commercial pest control, I consider it my most essential tool, even over my B&G, with its low psi setting I can even use it indoors and cover my entry points, get around large buildings quickly, with out dealing with a long hose and with out straining my body during every single treatment. The only problem I had so far was the battery showed me full power when in fact it was dead, the trick is to push the button on the battery a few time’s back to back and the second or third time it’ll show the power level indicator bars drop to the actual battery level.

Without having to buy a tank and what not since right now I don't have the room for It. I really like the 2V. That's more pressure then a water hose, that would be perfect for rinsing off water pretty fast. I'm tempted lol

How often should lawns be mowed ? To what height ? Is it better to bag, or mulch ? Thanks, love the channel !
@pestandlawnginja5 жыл бұрын
Great question. The answer is it all depends on your lawn goals. If you want to keep it short, below 2" I suggest mowing 2 to 3x per week. If you want to stay at 3" or above I recommend every 5 days. If you mow frequently mulching is recommended. If you're taking more than .25" off the top I recommend bagging.

I use the same video, agree with the pace and overlap, plus I tend to hit areas a little too long. One thing that's helped me is to use some herbicides at 75% strength (particularly tenacity), it usually takes a 2nd app anyways and this way the grass doesn't turn white.

Lawn Ginja, I did it. I just bought the Typhoon 2v - 2 model. I have the Chapin, but concerned about it's longevity and I am using the backpack sprayer a whole lot now. I really dig Flowzone's quick disconnect features, which like you say is a game changer. Hopefully, I can use my collection of various nozzles I use with my pressure washer with this unit. One of the main feature of your review that really made me decide to go the Flowzone is being able to use those pro nozzles (purchased the Blue and Yellow). Also, I like that all parts can be replaced by the owner. Unfortunately, Flowzone was out of the T-Jet adapters, which are on back order. I will have to rig up something. These backpack sprayers are hard to find these days and Flowzone says they won't receive any for at least around 5 weeks because of the Covid 19 and that can even change quickly. A backpack sprayer with a built in agitator for applying diluted granules like 'Fahrenheit' would be awesome! Instead of killing my energy by swishing my pump sprayer around to dilute my granules, can I use a 'mixer on my drill' to dilute the granules in a 5 gallon pail before pouring the diluted solution into my sprayer to minimize mixing while spraying? IF SO, then I can add some soap for surfactant after it's poured into the pumper and swished again to mix the liquid soap.

totally agree. I've used the motabi systems for a while, they have a build in paddle agitator. No worries. My dilemma is I have 8,000 sq ft of turf and want to use the blue lesco chem lawn head, but also want to do the yard with one tank. That would mean running half gallon per 1000 vs the 1 gallon per 1000. That would me dialing down the pressure. Would that cause the blue nozzle to spit and not even spray?
@pestandlawnginja3 жыл бұрын
@@patrickt.7338 it wouldn't do well. Less pressure wont work well since the gpm rating for the blue nozzle is 1gpm. Anything less than that will cause the stream to have 50% less surface area coverage

That was my thought too. Thanks for confirming. It is truly appreciated. Last question, any issues with the variable pressure dial moving during use? No issues with the dial moving during use. The issues we've had were specific to the very first gen model. The dials and mother boards were faulty. After they were replaced we've had zero issues. We own 4 typhoon 2v we paid for. The battery Indicators are also unreliable.

@pestandlawnginja4 жыл бұрын

@@MrFosterForever I ended up buying a a Cyclone. I have used it 3 times already for liquid fertilizer and some pre emergent. I was definitely blown away from the way it sprays. I did some testing with some water and noticed that on the high setting I had to walk way too fast in order to keep up with liquid ratio to square footage. But on the low setting it was perfect. I didn't care for the adjustable nozzle really, but the green one was perfect for my application. I used the red one to spray some herbicide on lilipads in my lake and that red nozzle really makes the spray go far. Great product
@Young_Star5 жыл бұрын
For spreading herbicide, wouldn't you want finer droplets for the plant leaves to absorb quicker? I can see the bigger droplets are good for spreading fertilizer that is meant for the soil anyways.
@pestandlawnginja5 жыл бұрын
Great observation. It all depends on the spray rate. I'm only spraying at 1gal per minute per 1000ft2. There is truth that a finer mist would be ideal to stick better to the leaf. At the rate I'm spraying it still works great. On our professional trucks I spray at 2 gallons per minute per 1000ft2 with a similar nozzle.

Hi, I am simply not sure any of the 'pressure washer' nozzles can give you a wide enough angle to spray efficiently. This is why there is TeeJet. How did you calculate 1.12 gpm on the 115 PSI max setting? I have a flowzone spec sheet and it says the typhoon v2's high speed is 0.634 gpm at 115psi. The sheet's high speed columns have next to it in parenthesis (dead head). Not sure what that means. Do you? Just trying to understand how I'm misinterpreting the data sheet! Awesome video. You were stoked!
@pestandlawnginja4 жыл бұрын
I calculated the volume by using a cup and a timer. best way to do it and figure out what reality is. It legitimately pushes 1.12 gpm all day. my technicians love it because of the volume it pushes. I have no clue what dead head means LOL. you can also hack these pumps to push them even further if you wanted to. I find the 1.12 gpm is a tad fast for most people.
