I went to Bass Pro Shop this morning, I couldn’t find any of the combos you had mentioned, the cheapest one I saw was $170, sorry, that’s not going to happen, especially right now plus if I can’t figure out how to use it, it would be quite a waste. Fellow vet from Ohio here brother. Just picked up one of these combos on my visit to Bradenton florida, landed a 5lb largemouth on it to top the evenin off. Caught well over 30lbson this combo and the only complaint I have, is the thumb clicker disengaging mid cast. Didn’t happen a lot but sure was frustrating untangling a whole spool of 50lb braid.

American hero was my first baitcaster I bought, I loved it, I bought it at Dicks sporting goods for $79.99, I used it for a couple of weeks till I did a one handed cast and it flew out of my hand and landed in the water. In terms of bait casters I prefer Abu’s reels over lews, but I used my buddies American hero spinning combo before and it felt wonderful. Made me go out and by a Lews XP speed spin a few days later.

My advice is too turn the dial on the side of the reel at 10 or whatever the highest tightness is then use the knob next too the handles to make your bait lower slowly without it stopping then after a month or two after your comfortable then mess with the dial too he likes.
