just bought from sudaniya organics today :) i got the sudanese bukhoor and then also got some perfumes (Khaltaat Al Arabia Royal Blend and Lattafa Khamrah) i hope it goes good with the bukhoor scent since i wanna use the bukhoor on my hair😭

I lived in Tchad, Syria, Irak among others countries but in the first three there was always a traditional scent that I love and I haven’t been able to find, I recently purchased mixed boxes in amazon but none of them is the one I am looking for. Coal is pretty toxic I suggest you all to just use the burner and place the bukhoor directly on that.. the coal is not really needed from my own experience and doesn't smoke up the house

The coal is what brings the unique smell from the bukhoor which is from the word abkhar بخر تبخر which also has the meaning of تصعد the emit vapour to incense via a fume steam which is only achievable with high heat. To reduce the toxins traditionally, the actual bukhoor was always used with the gel/ruben which is the sap from the oud tree. It is proven from research to have medicinal properties without mentioning what some acient aztec & indian claims are regarding it. It reduces the toxins & the smoke sets into all the fabrics of the house; curtains,carpets,garments etc. Which holds the aroma. The traditional method is to move around the house & then leave it at a high place. Once the dukhn/smoke builds open the windows untill the smoke clears. Also only use in large open spaces not small rooms. To reduce intensity of smoke simply place some foil ontop of the coal then place the fragrances ontop . Once the coal cools down after 20-25mins place the incense directly briefly to ensure the bukhoor actually emits vaporized aroma. Also the very smokey bukhur which is from cheap khushab/sticks use synthetic oils mixed with charcoal. The original method is to use real oud sticks/sandalwood etc. Coated in oils with the gel(always) This is the kuwaiti way
