Maker's Cask Strength I agree is not much by itself, but it's my go-to for a good Kentucky mint julep. Also, since the "Poor Man's Pappy" ingredients (Weller 107 and 12 year) are now rarely available, I've been making a "Poorer Man's Pappy" with a 1:1 mix of Weller Green Label and Maker's Cask Strength. It makes a nice quaff...richer than the 90 proof Weller but still with the wheated pleasantries. GOT to find a Cask Strength Four Roses...never tried that before.

Huge fan of your work Chris. I really enjoy this bracket style but what I would like to see you do after you get your final four is to go and use your four favorite versions of each like c919 or a120 ecbp, stagg 12, and maybe store picks for jdbp and rare breed. That's also my guess for your final four. With Stagg on top

I’m not a big fan of four roses, but I’m curious about the cask strength one. I love EJ and Bella Meade, so I guess those 2 top of the 4. Makers is ok, it’s one of the only whiskeys I like better on the rocks. ( odd, I know), lol.

I'm new to neat whisky drinking, and just dipping my toes into barrel proof options, but I did pick up ECBP B520 last weekend, and it is AMAZING. By far, the highest proof I've tried neat so far, and it blows me away how little burn I get from it. I've also tried Maker's Cask Strength, actually because it was relatively lower proof, but ECBP is far and ahead my preference. Definitely looking forward to trying more in the future! 🥃🥃

Love these barrel proof Shootouts! My favorite BP so far is the ECBP C919. But I just got the Larceny BP B520 and it's soooooo easy to drink! And only $50... I had to buy 3!!! Can't wait to see the next round, Cheers!

Chris, interesting review and great theme. But, I'm confused by the numbering of the pours. When you went through the tasting they were 1. 4R, 2. MMCS, 3. Belle Meade and 4. ECBP. In the reveal, you called ECBP sample 1, Belle Meade sample 4, MMCS sample 2 and 4R sample 3. What happened?

Yes it is because before I shuffled them initially I had them numbered 1 to 4. I have to use a better system!

Pre-watch: ECBP, WOO-WOO-WOO!!! My 1st try was A119, which was too smoking hot with hints of kerosene. Not a fan. A120 converted me...SO much umami richness! I've just (finally!) acquired the B520, and I enjoy the sweetness, but I think A120 is still my favorite
