I get this in South Texas for $21.50 at Total Wine, and the 1.75L for $43.99. It’s a great value at those prices….Woodford Reserve, Knobb Creek, and Elijah Craig are all $28-$35. Those bourbons I do think are better, but they’re also $7-$15 more expensive. I don’t know, I guess we get a good deal on Maker’s down here in Texas.

A little late in here but thank you for your review. I just picked up a SB store pick and was eager to hear some opinions. Probably go pick up a 2nd bottle tomorrow as they’re only cutting them loose one per day. Thanks again!

Well hell, what happened to the old fashioned heavy based tumbler rocks glass? mixed drinks?I dont need a note. I know what good bourbon/whiskey smells like. I just need a frickin glass, to drink my drink.i dont smell, or spill. Dont need that other crap, just a good ol fashioned glass for drinking.

If you can't sniff enough aroma when sniffing whiskey from a tumbler you should contact your physician ASAP.

It seems funny to me that if (at the very beginning of the video) you'd have ranked them all by proof point (higher proof equals higher points) that you'd have got EXACTLY the same result ! The BT & ER are both interchangeable as they are both 90 proof ! So well done, you blind tasted them and ranked them on proof points rather than anything else. You even stated during this video that you prefer the higher proofs and then proved the point.....Maybe blind tasting Bourbons at the same proof point would be the way to go in the future as you're just left with the flavours to compare rather than anything else that could possibly 'skew' the results, just a thought buddy.

Quite well presented and very clear. After they butchered my favourite bourbon ( Elijah Craigh 12) and no longer available, I slowly moved into Scotch. Glenfiddich was a good started but once you expand your palate, Caol Ila, Ardberg and Bunnahabhain are really something else. Haven't tried any Japanese whiskey yet. Any recommendations in that area?

I probably would of been fine with this one if I didn't have Old Grand Dad bonded right next to it; the flavor profile on the Old Grand Dad 100 is fantastic. I started with Old Grand Dad 114 but I think the OGD 100 is better in my whiskey sour.

$40 "worth a gamble" and no way at $60. JUST WOW the conceit. THE MSRP IS $45 NOW so maybe the new review will say it's not worth the risk at $45. Poor people with poor taste shouldn't drink Weller.

Scotch has many varied and complex flavors that are enjoyable. Bourbon has essentially one flavor that is somewhat different between brands but essentially if you had one you know what they all pretty much taste like which is okish.

I would agree if both Black and Buffalo Trace had not the same price in my country. Not sure if Jim Beam Black is expensive here or Buffalo Trace is cheap, but both can be found for about $30, just a little cheaper than regular Woodford Reserve For 15 more bucks you can find Eagle Rare easily, and if you want to spend a little more, you can find Four Roses Small Batch

The two Tennessee Whiskeys that make up the Double Barrel were aged in first-fill Bourbon barrels, while the Rye was aged in new oak. I found out why when I tasted the final product. It would've been too rough if they'd used new oak for all three, and married them in hand toasted barrels.
@rivenbeef Жыл бұрын
Scotch regions mean basically nothing in terms of flavor now. The style (sherried, bourbon matured, peated, etc.) is much more relevant as there is crossover between regions. Single malt scotch is made from 100% malted barley, but blends, which make up the vast majority of scotch production, contain other grains as well.

It's a great value and a great bourbon. I paid $41 for a 1L bottle and the 1897 bib (.750ml) is $58 that's a no brainer (IMO) even if the latter is slightly better. this and the 86 proof is always in my liquor cabinet. I only have the 1920 prohibition from the whiskey row series and that's quite tasty although I wish it was a little cheaper than $68 out the door. Great review 🥃Cheers!

I just picked up a bottle of Buffalo Trace and handed the guy a $50 bill and got change (literally coins) back. Never seen a bottle of Eagle Rare never on the shelf. The Knob Creek 9 & Elijah Craig Small Batch are both really good and the Four Roses Yellow Label I just never can pull the trigger on it, the Evan Williams black label is higher proof and cheaper. The Four Roses Small Batch is really good. Thanks for the review! 🥃Cheers
