Rancho is not bad. I like that the fairways and greens are pretty clean. What I do have an issue with are the tee boxes. They need to flatten them out and repair them as well. I would give Rancho an 7/10. I would much rather play the back nine at an 18-hole course. Also, keep in mind that if you play later in the day the winds on hole 5 and 6 are really ramped up. Great Video and great round. Nice Birdie at the end. Both your swings are looking good. Can't wait for the next one.

Love this little gem. When I started playing golf, this was my go-to spot. It was like $8 or $9 dollars to play after 5pm, which was plenty of time to finish before dark. Fun place, those long par 3s are no jokes! Another discount 18 at south SJ was Pleasant Hill, near by Raging Water but they closed it down years ago, grazing pasture for cows now before they build something, quite a shame really. $10 dollars to play in the super twilight there, some 20+ years ago.

Those greens looked like they were rolling great. Play the one par 4 forward as a par 3; what a great par 3 course. Good stuff.

Honestly the conditions were pretty good! It's just a tad short since there is only a single par 4. But otherwise not a bad option at all.

Rancho is one of the most Junior golf friendly golf courses out there. Pruneridge only had YOC rates M-Th. So I often make the trek to Rancho with my kids on the weekend. And I live a couple blocks from Pruneridge.

So far I enjoy them quite a lot on full swings! If I need to chip around the green I can choke up no problem and it's like I'm back to regular length wedges.

Rancho is pretty fun. Pruneridge is by far the best 9 hole course in the San jose area though. If you haven't played it yet, you should.

Prune is great! They have a little of everything course layout wise. It's my home stomping ground haha.

Pruneridge to me was always overpriced. Though the other courses are catching up, when I started playing it was $17 to play Pruneridge and Twighlight at the old Santa Clara golf course was only $23.

@@mr2fyre For how nice it is compared to other 9 hole places, it's cheaper for what you get. Does cost a little more, but I would gladly pay that for combed greens, real bunkers, and good grass. The wait at each hole sucks but all 9 hole courses are like that to a degree.
