Vilano Beach has turned into my go-to beach. Just love it there! I discovered that a number of the beaches had the stairs washed away from Ian and are still under repair so Vilano is really easy to get in and out of. I didn't know about Matanzas Inlet so I'll have to check it out.

My favorite too. I do love the GTM as well but yes there are stairs there.

Are all of these beaches nice soft sand? Some looked a little rocky/Shelly

No they are all different. I would say Vilano, Ponte Vedra Beach and GTM are a bit coarser. You'll find the fine white sand beaches south of the inlet on Anastasia Island. Check out Anastasia State Park and St Augustine Beach down to Crescent.

How often are shark attacks happen? How safe is to swim there?

I don't know of any and find it to be safe. Never had an issue
