Luke let’s goo!! First off big congrats on the black label! I sold my first (and only) one and have zero regrets because it’s a card I wasnt super attached to. I know you’ll do whatever you feel is best with it. Secondly, congrats on the upgraded grade on the Raichu! In my experience, BGS is really forgiving with vintage grades for some reason or another 🔥🫶🏻

@@LegendofLuke I think ppl are gonna look back at celebrations and be crazy about the mew because the zard has been reprinted so many times, but the mew is unique to this set, it was hard to pull and you now have the best possible copy. If the card is work 1500 bucks or so now, then unless you need the money I would keep this because I think this card raw will be a few hundered bucks let alone the black label

I never really cared for beckett slabs but I randomly won a beckett slab on whatnot a few weeks ago and I actually really like how the slabs look and feel now, I'll probably grade with them next time

I have not sold a single black label I’ve gotten; only ones I recommend dropping are the ones with over 100 pop.

hey I got a question, I have a card that is pristine 10 that has 10/10/10/9.5 corner, is it worth it to resubmit for graded card review and try to get the black label? or is it not worth it and most likely beckett won't bump up that .5?

It’s a gamble, but it could be worth a try. If the corner looks clean, I say go for it.

They're trash. Website is shit. Pop report is a fucking nightmare. I have many cards that don't even register in BGS pop report says they've graded zero of them when I have 2 of the card. Horrible customer service. Etc

My son pulled 2 of the celebrations Charizard's and both got PSA 10. I think one looks slightly better then the other which most likely would hit the BGS 9.5 as well. I'm sure the better looking one would not get a black label but I will not take my chances with BGS ever.

I think these look awesome but man the sleeve on the inside really obstructs the card's visibility. and some of these weren't even perfectly centered into the case. that'd drive me insane.

Yeah I do have mixed feelings about the inner sleeve. But you can tap the slab lightly to recenter the card.

this is why pokémon collectors don’t grade with BGS. Besides the new everything else worth more in PSA, and maybe CGC 10s instead

Not sure what you mean. BGS gold 10s are almost always worth more than PSA 10s. That BGS 8 Raichu goes for $80 more than the PSA 8. Sure, BGS grades harder, so you get a lot of 9.5s, but personally I just prefer the look of BGS. CGC 10s (unless you get pristine) continue to sink in value. Imo not worth it to grade with them anymore since turnaround times are not much better than other companies.

@@LegendofLuke CGC had to change their ways because they realized people are sick of 9.5s being so common. Sure a BGS 10 and black label can surpass PSA 10 in value but it doesn’t outweigh all the lower grade returns. CGC and PSA are significantly cheaper to grade with as well. it’s nice BGS is the only one with subgrades, but they realized they need to give more Black labels out to compete with the other two. CGC also had to ease up and change their standards. I think CGC surpassed BGS for second in pokémon. they all have their pros and cons, i do like BGS black labels but more often than not go with CGC and PSA because the quantity of 10s is much higher. i like the look of CGCs new pristine 10 personally for my own collection. wish they didn’t take away perfect tier. I only buy BGS if it’s black label, otherwise PSA seems to own the majority of the market for resale. A lot is subjective . BGS seems popular for sports and weiss schwarz

But bgs 9s are worth less than psa 9s Maybe for modern cards it makes sense to try for beckett 10s But for vintage its a lost cause anyways and psa 10s are worth insanely more than bgs 9.5s

Honestly I think Beckett is one of the least trustworthy grading companies, contrary to their slogan. There’s been so much evidence of corruption (employees giving each other BLs) and their grading standards practically have 0 consistency. So much intentional pop control, while there’s cards that get black labels that are so clearly off center.
