2WD buggy is my favorite weekend racer. There is always a class to race in every weekend. You learn a lot about setup and how to read track conditions with 2wd buggy. What you learn transforms into all other racing classes. They even have rentals to try out at some tracks.

I highly recommend buying aftermarket c and d blocks. Adjustable anti squat would have really helped over the year of owning one of these along with a bigger pinion and a ball diff for dirt. I could not get the stock shocks to stop leaking but donor b6 shocks are a good upgrade and those don't leak. I recommend getting spare front arms they get shaved away at the hing pin after half a season, axle rebuilds, rear body mounts if you dont velcro, wing mounts. A factory team kit of one of these would be sick. Reminds me a ton of the b4s as a kid.

It's really cool that AE still has a rear motor 2wd buggy option. I am thinking about getting one for my small outdoor dirt track since my B6 is for indoors. Seeing this video made me want one more!

I bought this last year when I bought the Sworkz Fox 4x4 when I was on vacation in North Carolina. It is a great car. Upgrade the spur and the pinion gear for a little faster car and it's awesome to run.

I really hope Associated makes a stadium truck of this platform. Sure all the supercheap re-shells of the RB10 are neat and all, but they are only 3-4 brand new parts away from being able to make a stadium truck. (chassis, body, front and rear tires)
@stw94957 ай бұрын
Yes! Bring back cheap race based stadium trucks! I love race type vehicles and appreciate their higher level of precision, but as someone who doesn't find themselves on a proper track often, I can't justify spending bukus on a proper race kit. Until then, my Rustler will have to suffice.

My first RC was a Tamiya Falcon in 1986... Saved up by delivering papers, haha. Obviously a read 2WD. Since then I'm into the Large 4WD Truggies and bashing, but looking to get back into a 1/10 buggy. My local track only allows 1/10 scale. I'm thinking this may be a little "too" beginner for me, but it was a great video and gave me someplace to start looking. Thanks!

It’s a hybrid between the B4 and B5 both very pro chassis. All you need to do is upgrade the motor and rear tires and its a monster.

A guy traded me one of these for some airsoft gear this week and after years of being a Traxxas fanboy, I really, really dig it. These things out of the box have the parts equivalent of a similarly priced Bandit 2WD VXL with an extra ~$100 in upgrades. Great performance and value for money (with a 23t pinion, of course).

I have had this for over a year and it was amazing never broke anything I changed the motor to a 10.5 motor and took it to my outdoor track and handles amazing and also changed the gearing and tires running a shorty battery to adjust weight
@stuartr83567 ай бұрын
I bought the Trophy Rat a while ago & it blew me away with its handling; like a 4wd going moderately, but super nimble as a 2wd drive should be when harder on the trigger. As you said, taught me a lot about RC car control which has increased my enjoyment of my other rigs. Team Associated make superb handling cars & the 14b is an amazingly satisfying 4wd drive car for smaller spaces.

If there was one gripe about this… gearing is too conservative. I would use a 23t pinion and a 81t spur, both in 48 pitch.

Don't even need to watch to say "yes it is." I got RBs for my brother and I, and I think they are our favorites for the backyard track. We have loads of cars and scales to choose from, but the RB10 is all about the driving. It's crazy how good it is for the price. One issue is that those old, smooth TA shocks tend to leak slightly in storage or shipping, we always have to top up the shocks when we get TA RTRs. But a bit of 30wt and a couple of screws and it's good as new.

Likely geared conservatively as it is advertised as 3S capable. The out-of-box gearing is set to not over-stress the motor on 3S. I'm not sure why people get so upset about out of box speeds when it's just a pinion (and sometimes spur gear) change away.
