really depends on location but for most, getting a pair of cheap woodland bdus and an ALICE rig (generally cheaper than a MOLLE rig), paired with 40 or so dollar milsurp boots is a fairly cheap set-up that'll get the job done effectively. Of course there are also things like kneepads and goggles but there are plenty of good options there.

@Real_MisterSir7 жыл бұрын
For anyone new to airsoft and are watching this vid, there are some more options that the guy didn't mention: 1. Depending on your style, you can look into something with a manual spring firing system. Most sniper rifles use a bolt action spring, which are both super reliable, don't need any battery pack, shoot straight and with high speed, and are even cheaper than the AEG weapons because they are simple to manufacture and don't require all these accessories like charger and battery + spare internal parts etc. On top of this, there is a huge aftermarket support for upgrading your springs, barrels, etc. to make your sniper rifle fit your needs and fit the range you play at. I started out with a basic sniper rifle kit, which had the gun, a 4x scope, bipod, and 2000 bb bullets - all for 2/3 of the price of the cheapest quality AEG weapon. And I still use that rifle 10 years later. It shoots straight, 440-460 fps no mods, haven't needed any maintenance yet, and only has bb loading issues in 1/100 shots. Of course, getting a sniper rifle means you will need a certain playstyle, and some airsoft ranges are not really suited for a lot of +100feet engagements, but if the style fits you and your playground, then getting a bolt action sniper rifle is both the cheapest, most hassle-free, and reliable way into airsoft :)

I totally agree with your belief that the G&G is the best starter gun out there. When I started out in airsoft about 6 years ago, I did research to buy my first real airsoft gun. I wanted to get the G&G combat machine but my parents overruled and I got a JG M4 because it was "the same thing" but cheaper. It fell apart in 6 months and I bought my first combat machine which I still have to this day. Albeit I've rebuilt the front end, replaced the stock, replaced the internals with the GHK drop in gas system, it's still the same shell. I've since bought a G&G Raider V2 GBB CM16 (now discontinued :( ), and the G&G PDW15. Quite happy with G&Gs quality. I've bought a few other guns on the side (Classic army, lancer tactical, and Cybergun) but none have held up the way that the G&Gs do... just an FYI for any new players out there
@ObjectableApparatus7 жыл бұрын
cymas go as low as 100 bucks, take a look at the 74u on evike or a cm.036 which is their akm, out of the box it can be up to 480 fps and it'll settle at 400, those go for 125-140 bucks.
@pilotgeorge20007 жыл бұрын
ObjectableApparatus cymas are good guns but they have their flaws: (A.) they arrive at your doorstep bone dry and need lubrication (B.) they have plastic parts in the trigger assembly and fire selector which are subject to breaking. the plastic parts are usually not available from most websites (or eBay) and can be very hard to find. this makes cymas a risky choice for new players. you really have to know your gun if you have a cyma. Ive had 2 friends quit airsoft when the cymas broke. if you have a 3d printer and scanner, go buy a cyma and scan the plastic parts. that's about the only time it's really worth the risk as a new player. (you could print replacement parts). Cyma cuts some corners that shouldn't be cut
@ObjectableApparatus7 жыл бұрын
when has the trigger assembly broke, it doesn't move and it isn't subject to alot of stress. Can you cite something that proves that cymas need lubrication because they are "bone dry" because everyone that I know that ordered a cyma never had this mysterious problem I never heard of, I even own 4 cyma aks and a cyma aep, none need lubrication, maybe relubrication internally and some angle of engagement correction but thats with all aegs. Also, that stuff can be salvaged from lpeg gearboxes if it somehow magically breaks. A risky buy is anything with a version 2 gearbox as they are prone to cracking, have inferior heat dissipation as the wires are inside the gearbox, have no motor mounts so you have to fuck with the grip to get that to shim right, you cant stick anything past an m115 without serious reliability issues(we can sorbo things in version 3s too, it's just that if you sorbo one its guaranteed to never break due to the piston slamming into it. And heres the thing, cymas hands down make the aks for budgeting and aks are the best airsoft guns by far, do the math. G&G has magnesium bodies at best and plastic bodies at worst and actual performance is something you can alter with every brand, I could get a piece of shit lancer tactical to outperform a krytac by spending 20 bucks, hell, it'll last longer too. What other corners do you think cyma cuts as their newer models have steel bodies and you can get those super cheap but it doesnt really matter as their plastic bodied cm.028s wont really crack unless your putting them through stuff any aeg shouldnt be put through.
@pilotgeorge20007 жыл бұрын
ObjectableApparatus I'm glad that you've had good success with cymas. that being said,.I was just stating the problems that new players commonly encounter with cymas.
@pilotgeorge20007 жыл бұрын
what I meant by bone dry is that cymas use a cheaper lubricant that wears off quickly, and new players usually do not learn that they need to lubricate their guns until something breaks. on cymas, it's almost always the trigger assembly that goes first. while the gearboxes are Rock solid, the trigger assembly on the cm 028 (metal ak) is plastic and if not lubricated (which new players commonly won't lubricate) will become brittle and break. the same is true in their m14 line... it's not a big deal (and often times not even a noticable problem) for experienced players like you and me, but for first time buyers, this can be a catastrophic flaw.

I just bought myself a black CM16 Raider L! I was considering it for a while, but this video (and local availability) helped push me over the edge. I knew it was a pretty reliable gun, but I had no idea how good they are in their own right. For such a "budget" gun, there's apparently a whole wack of airsofters who could afford crazy $500+ (CAD) guns but still love those Combat Machines. I guess there's a good reason why most airsoft fields in North America use them as rentals!

Hey man, love the show, I have been playing for several years and have recently purchased an amoeba AM 014, its one of the higher performing rifles, and is very accurate, but i cant make shots at a longer range. Should I just get heavier BB's or should i look into upgrading the internals? Thanks
@ROMANOWSKIAIRSOFT7 жыл бұрын
First what gram bbs are you using. And secondly if you can't get range make sure your hop up is set properly for the weight of bbs. I can hit up to 200ft it seems and I'm using .25 by elite force. Highly suggest those bbs for quality. I'm not sponsored FYI. But definitely check your grams.
@josiahmeece33817 жыл бұрын
Roman Scalph Ok, thanks. Ive been using .20 this whole time, and my hop ups been adjusted. I typically play on outdoor fields, and I do t like it when i miss shots due to the bbs not reaching them haha
@ROMANOWSKIAIRSOFT7 жыл бұрын
yeah .25 or .28 get the best range for an age assault rifle. .20's are a little bit more consistent in pistols i think
@RWMilSimGC7 жыл бұрын
If your gun is shooting around 400 FPS I would actually use .25/.28 bbs. The .20s will actually get caught up by air resistance in some cases and not go as far as a heavier BB. Think of it as like throwing a base ball vs. a paper ball. Now it also depends on the bucking and hop up of your gun, but generally if you increase the weight slightly of your BBs you should get a little better range and better accuracy as well.

RWMilSimGC okay, thanks! Keep up the great work guys!

Spring guns are also available (also the cheapest but probably best for sniper use only) Great for snipers. Gas is very inconsistent with temperature of the environment. Don't shoot AEG in semi-auto thinking that you will save battery life. BB's can get expensive so bring a cheap back up gun that fires single shot if you start getting low saving you money on BB's which also doesn't leave you high and dry if your gas or battery dies. I have a decent spring sniper rifle with a scope that is accompanied with my electric M14. Don't underrestimate the rate and cost of BB's batteries and gass that you can go through in a single game. Having a spring sniper saved me so much money and being able to provide more support to my team was extremely beneficial which made playing two roles very interesting. Just my two cents.

What is the best HAND gun for a beginner?
@RWMilSimGC7 жыл бұрын
I think we will be making an entire video on that as well in the future, but for right now I think the short answer would be an EliteForce 1911. We did a whole reliability test on it a little while back to show how reliable the gun functions and how good it is for the money.

You forgot to mention Springers
@RWMilSimGC7 жыл бұрын
Springers kinda fall under the category of fun guns in my opinion. Typically when someone is looking for a "beginner gun", they want something that they can play competitively with. Now while you can do that with spring bolt action rifles and pump shotguns, they aren't my number one choice for a gun to start with and anything else is really just for having fun, so I would not recommend them as a beginner gun to use.
@melindagreer41777 жыл бұрын
RWMilSimGC I agree. I have a DMPS M4A1. It's nice and versatile, however, it does lack a bit in CQB, so I carry a Tri-Shot, pistol grip, pump action shotgun on my back for close hall breaches and tight spaces. Works like a charm, but I would not solely use the springer. It is strictly a secondary weapon, more of a tool really.

RWMilSimGC where did you get the scar l from?
@yourfavoriteshortguy24777 жыл бұрын
Awesome Maxter that's the VFC scar l. It was my first choice for my first airsoft gun until now. The raider is much more practical to get for a started. Originally the tan for the scar l costs around $370 ish and the black is a bit lower. If you want the gun I would recommend waiting for a 25% off sale at evike or something because the price for the tan goes down to $300 and the black goes down to $270 ish

@garrettmcguire68645 жыл бұрын
Lancer Tactical, they have some low and mid range guns. With mess around back yard games you can get away with most anything, as long as one person isn't over powered. $120-$180 (USD) will get you a rifle from Lancer Tactical that is perfect for games with your friends, and won't embarrass you at the field. Here are some Rifles and starter kits that should prove satisfactory, but I still suggest watching reviews on any gun before you buy it. www.airsoftgi.com/product/Lancer-Tactical-LT15B-G2-Gen-2-M4-SD-Carbine-AEG-Airsoft-Rifle-Option-32936/ www.amazon.com/Lancer-Tactical-Airsoft-LT-12BK-10-inch/dp/B01869LX8E/ref=sr_1_11?crid=RKJ57FRV2EMZ&keywords=lancer+tactical&qid=1564534357&s=gateway&sprefix=lancer+t%2Caps%2C185&sr=8-11 www.foxairsoft.com/airsoft-guns-for-beginners/airsoft-rifle-starter-kits/

Me beginning airsoft: Everyone: go m4 becouse anyone can help you and you can get parts easely Me: I like long range so i need about 50 to 55cm inner barrel, i Also like to play CQB but a long inner barrel would be bad for that... i do like bullpup designs, a €330,- tokyo marui aug A2 special it is! I do think i will upgrade the spring to a stronger one though.. about 290 fps with .2g bbs atm, Also the max weight bb it can hop is .25g, in the netherlands 360 fps with .2g is legal (although we measure in joules with the max weight allowed now to stop joule creeps) If i have more replica's i am thinking about transforming it into a DMR becouse of the long inner barrel

This is why I use lancer tactical. They gave me a really nice battery and smart charger with my gun all in a combo for around 100$. The gun works well and the combo items help a lot with money conservation. This guide is still valid, so if anyone thinks "oh this guy got good chargers and batteries with his gun, why not mine?" Just be sure to look at the company that sells the gun and the batteries themselves. I reccomend Tokyo Mauri, Lancer Tactical, and Cybergun for reliable starter weapons that come with a battery/charger combo.
