Just addressing the section of the video prior to the rack/pannier system. Bikepacking not touring. Very nice presentation by the way - clear, informative and efficient - nice job! They have certainly borrowed heavily from Ortlieb and Revelate Designs, but that is not a bad thing. They have some nice, small touches that improve on some of the pieces, such as charging cable ports. A couple of places might not work as well as needed tough. The top tube bag is a Velcro mount, not very secure and will fight for space on the top tube for attachments on the frame bag. Nice to see a bolt on version too. The rear bag with removable dry bag is going to be too small for serious bikepacking. 14 liters or so and some beefed up strapping options at the back end would be a good add or second size. The front bar bag has a clever feature with internal bag to keep wet away from dry. A thin dry bag for wet or dry items might be easier and more flexible once your kit is dialed. It would also be nice to see a bleed valve here. All in all, pretty nice looking stuff. Interesting to see how much $$$ and have them make a few tweaks as noted above. Thanks for a good presentation. Thanks Dave! 100% they have taken some nice ideas from a few brands especially Ortlieb and Revelate (all the best bits!) The top tube bags velcro attachemt syncs up to the sytem on the frame bag so there is no need for a double strap, minimising the straps and keeping the setup nice and clean. Yeah the saddle sack isnt the biggest, but don't you find the huge ones ruin the ride a little with all the weight and volume up heigh on the bike? Thanks for the comment Dave, hope all is well over the pond!

@@wiggle you have a good point on the large rear bag. However, we have slow and cold routes over here and you need voulune. I use the Revelate Design 14l Terrapin for longer tours where we have to pack a lot ( no plate to re-supply) and a smaller, Medium Ortlieb for shorter rides. The Terrapind can be strapped down tight and eliminates the tail wagging the dog. Things are good here despite the news! Ski season is winding down and the bikes are coming out!
@mattneenan832
@mattneenan832 2 жыл бұрын
Definitely agree with the 14+ litre seat bag, and if the top tube bag was available as a bolt-on that would be fantastic if for nothing else than aesthetics. It certainly could compromise the water resistant nature of it, but I think that could be engineered with a gasket or two to fall within reasonable risk.

I have used the frame bag at 6:18. The good: I like that it is narrow and doesn't expand out too much. I didn't rub my knees raw on a 30 hour ride which was nice. On the right side I had a 2L Platypus bladder, on the left I had the phone and some other small items. The bad, the toothless zipper broke the second ride. It seems to work great in the shop Easy to use with one hand, but once it got dusty, the friction increased and as it turns out was not a one handed operation. I hope there is a version two where they duplicate the zipper and flap on the right side and use it on the left side as well.
@wiggle
@wiggle 3 жыл бұрын
That frame bag shape is such a winner for sure. That's very annoying on the zipper front, if you bought it via Wiggle i'm sure our customer service team can sort that problem out for you...maybe the original zippers are here to stay a little longer!

The assumption that the viewer knows how the klick-fix works on the panniers was disappointing. "As we know, it's tried and true" except for those of us who have never used it before. Do you lift the string to unlock, and does it come off easily when you do? And then lower into place and it automatically hangs and locks?

Great looking bags. They are surely excellent quality. I am hunting for a large handlebar and seatpost bag for my set up and unfortunately I don't think this would hold my tent/ sleeping system even though I have really nice and compact stuff (zpack tent, sea to summit pad and enlightened equipment quilt). What sleep system could this possibly fit?
@wiggle
@wiggle 3 жыл бұрын
I think you'd squeeze that in this setup, especially if you're looking to run the large pannier system. If not you'd be looking to go for a front and rear rack to allow for the more hefty larger luggage systems. Let us know what you go for
@fademasterfade227
@fademasterfade227 3 жыл бұрын
@@wiggle Thanks. I might be able roll up my tent smaller than I've done so far; I have to try it but I think fitting it into the front roll or seatbag would be tight (might be a bit of a chore and risk damaging it). I'm trying to avoid needing racks and panniers but not easy.

Why why why why in the world would they make the handlebar compact bag that holds a 13 inch laptop that is not water proof? I absolutely love the bag ! The color is beautiful so is the design but the first day I got it, ran into some rain and the inside of the computer sleeve was soaked !
@wiggle
@wiggle 3 жыл бұрын
Just had a look into this...it's such a good point! Most of the other bags are IPX4 waterproof which will cope with keeping anything dry in the worst weather... but the compact handlebar bag is just "water resistant". Weird they missed it on this bag, especially as it's the one that will get the spray abuse from the front wheel! Thanks for the feedback Roberto.

The bike is solid and my Ebike conversion went great. kzbin.infoUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Very smooth ride at 30mph with no problems (135 miles ridden so far). The picture is a bit deceiving - there is WAY less space in the center of the frame than it shows. The suspension connection takes up the entire thing. So I needed to attach my battery on the bottom of the frame and my controller on the top. Instructions for assembly were lacking but honestly it wasn't too hard to figure out even though I have very little bike knowledge. Watched some youtube videos on adjusting the disk brakes but that was it. Still, I am loving it and very happy with the purchase.
