My two cents. I upgraded from a badlands bino xr which was nice but I had my issues with. I tried the vortex glasspak pro, sitka mountain optics, marsupial no mag and the fhf fob. I was was trying to stay magnetless because I had a badlands that made a bad click sound when the magnets would grab and I also read in quite a few places they can mess with the compass in your gps or phone. Which I found to be true. But my solution for this was to be mindful of the issue, use tracking and when I move around in the woods I tend to use peaks and land marks to navigate. Quick gripes on the bino xr. The connection points for your optics are metal snap rings that clank on the side of your binos/ rangefinder when you take them out and put them back. The side zip pockets were not very useful, in my opinion. The bottom bucket for the rangefinder would snap closed on its own and make a lot of noise. The top lid magnet would just hang down in the open position and made a lot of noise when you closed it from the magnets connecting. The bino pouch had a lip over the top, so you couldn't lift your binos straight out. All that said, very comfortable bino harness. The vortex was nice for the price but lefta lott to be desired, I didn't find the harness very comfortabl, and the bino pouch itself had a weird hollow sound when the binoculars moved around inside. The molle straps felt chea, and I did not really trust them to hold any accessor, but maybetheye could have but I didn't try. The sitka mountain optics was nice and slim, binos fit well and didn't move around and the magets to hold the lid open were quiet. The lid unfortunately did not fully enclose around my binos but a pair of 10x42s or smaller would probably be better. I did not like the feel of the harness straps at all. The rangefinder/ whatever you want pouch had a weird opening mechanism and also made a hollow sound when putting my range finder inside. Did not have options to add any accessories. The Marsupial left me conflicted. I liked bino pouch, quiet and snug but not hard to remove binos. The range finder pouch was the same but a little too snug for the rangefinder. Definitely, some extended use would have broken it in and made it fit like a glove. My gripes were the side pockets on the bino harness were too small. Even for a small bottle of wind checker, I had to pry the pocket open with my middle finger and then slip the bottle in. It also made a quiet slap when I pulled the bottle out. The rangefinder pouch was mounted way to close to the harness which left the closing action of the no mag version with alot to be desired. The side pouch next to the rangefinder pouch was also rendered nearly useless. The harness was thin, but I found it surprisingly comfortable. The fhf was the winner for me, although it was not the most expensive. The harness is incredibly comfortable. The magnets are quiet. The bino pouch has foam blocks inside to adjust the height if you have have different binos you use, the blocks have a very thoughtful cutout to fit a spare rangefinder battery in there. The wing attachments allow you to add the rangefinder pouch so it doesn't crowd the harness. The rangefinder pouch is the same as the bino pouch in being quiet and well fitting. My only gripe on the range finder pouch is the stiffening material between the fabric does not fully enclose the bottom which let my sweat seap through and fog the lense of my rangefinder, I assume this is designed to also let water out though. The molle attachment points make your accessories feel very secure and let you customize it to what fits your needs. It comes with a windchecker/diapragm call pouch that fits on the side of the bino harness or whatever molle attachment point you wish. The big thumb tag on top of the bino pouch is a very intuitive design when reaching to open it. The fhf is the only one i kept but worth every penny, in my opinion.

@WendellAbigania2 ай бұрын
Marsupial has been my first and will probably be my last bino harness I’ll ever use. I’ve low crawled during stalks and never had any issues with it. They do have Blemish sales online and it’s mostly cosmetic flaws that didn’t pass QC. But they are fairly priced even when not on sale. Everything is sourced and made in USA. Also, regarding the range finder pouch sliding. There’s a way to weave in the molle straps together where it locks in place, limiting the pouch from sliding up and down. Marsupial recommends this with all their attachments especially with the bottom molle straps.

Had the same experience with the Kifaru. Wanted to love it, but the front flap was noisy and hard to manage, and did I mention the shoulder straps? Couldnt ever get them tight enough. Loved my Kuiu, but similar issue, I had to create another padding inside for side to side movement. Other than that, they have a slight squeak in the body, a bunch of people have noticed. Its not bad unless its cold and calm november in a treestand and its a slight pain. Looks like I need to try the Marsupial No mag next season!

I'm curious if there's enough room in one of the pouches to fit both the binoculars and the thermal device together. THX

On that Marsupial, do you like the No Mag version because it's better than the standard magnet version? Or is it just a matter of preference between magnets or no magnets? Any problems with the magnet version? I've got the Stone Glacier Skyline and don't love it because that harness is uncomfortable, it can be kinda janky to open and close one handed (whole harness wants to crawl up your chest sometimes), and the rangefinder pouch is way too tight for almost anything other than a $1500 Leica (which I don't have), so it's like a three-hand operation to get my "chubby" rangefinder out of there. I want to upgrade this year, but not sure if I should go with the new Stone Glacier or that Marsupial. I was keen on magnets, but now you've got me second guessing if they're good or bad.
@thehiddenoutdoors6535Ай бұрын
I just mainly went with the no mag because of the no magnets. I think most people don’t have many issues with magnets. I just want to be on the safe side so like no magnets. They function about the same. Both easy one handed. The magnetic version might be a little easier. One thing too is the no mag does have a band by the side pockets. Sometimes that can make it a little tougher to get things in and out. Still works fine just a small thing you’ll notice. I personally think the marsupial is better than stone glacier. Wish stores had more so people could try everything on. Just tough to know without trying them.
