The recycling symbol with no plastic inside Blu-ray cases is the bane of my existence. I love a great steelbook because of how uniform they all look, but I don't collect specifically just them. If there's a steelbook edition of a film out, I'll usually pick that one.

Would love to see you do a video on disk socks and downsizing your DVD boxes keeping the artwork in the disk only so that you can condense your movie collection within your home

I love the way Sony packaged "The Social Network" Blu-Ray with the discs enclosed in a black case. Most of my Blu-Rays are in the standard jewel case, so it makes that one stand out even more.

I dig all the Fincher releases. They always do something special with his stuff. Gone Girl has the children’s book from the movie, and Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was designed like a prop from the movie. Some people actually thought it was a bootleg release!

It’s interesting how you mention a preference for the sets where each film is in a separate case. I see pros and cons in both that design and the multiple-discs-in-one-case design, but I kind of prefer the latter for the sake of shelf space. I recently bought the Shrek Ultimate Collection with all the movies, shorts and the musical, and having them all together is a single case instead of six individual cases is more convenient.

Good episode. So far my ratio of good to bad disc packaging is about 90/10. BTW, how's that Conquering 200 Movies series coming along? :D

I only recently figured out you can fold the flap in the case. Thought my latest package was beaten to hell

The Gravity edition is the only way to get the Atmos mix. That's why it's so sought after.

That’s some good info, thanks! I never pay enough attention to the quality of transfer or mixing, but I’m surprised that mix wasn’t available on the original release

personally, i really liked when a saw film went to dvd because of the transparent slipcover seeing straight through to the disc.

Digibooks are okay, but you can't make combo packs out of them unless they've released the film in individual normal cases. I haven't been able to make a Back to the Future Combo set because the films have only ever been released together, not individually. I was hoping they would do it once the films were released on 4k blu ray, but it wasn't meant to be. For my matrix collection, I used one of those older 4-pack sets that were spread out on two double sided disks and combined it with a four-disk blu ray collection of the films that I put in a 6 disk blu-ray case. For now it works, but I'll eventually change it once I start caring about 4k blu-rays

Nice vid! I actually kinda like a few steelbooks, mostly cuz a lot of the one-off artwork on them is vintage mid-century style which I love Not too worried about whether there are booklets, etc. as I only ever look at them once when I first open the disk then have never looked at them again

Diamondluxe cases are the worst. I have the Gremlins one and the discs just sit in cardboard.

I like getting blurays in the blockbuster cases. Those are sturdy

Blockbuster's cases in general were more sturdy than the standard factory cases, it's weird.

Do you know where to buy the thick standard blu-ray case? It’s the very first case in your video. I don’t like the thin cases with the plastic hollowed out and I want to replace them with the thick standard cases. Thank you

The Saw collection sucks. All.the disc's keep falling out!
