I need to get around to Elysium, Heaviness of Knowing, and Black From the Future. Two Moons was such a great collection. An iconic moment for me was when the woman tired of heartbreak tries to get rid of her heart and it comes to life and makes her pancakes. And it assured her the squishy red stuff on the pancakes was strawberry compote not blood lol. So funny and cute.

@ericchristopher16874 жыл бұрын
@@ONYXPages No, Green Egg was a neo-pagan magazine that celebrated stories and articles about all traditions and cultures - including African, Native American, and pre-Christian European. They ceased publishing the mag several years ago and went online for a while. They produced the anthology just before switching to online. I found your KZbin channel because I am looking for more Black SF and fantasy to read. Samuel R. Delany and Octavia Butler are favorites of mine...I have read Dhalgren 9 times over the years; I think it is the greatest SF novel of the 20th century, because it covers absolutely everything - race, sex, religion, politics, environmental degradation, consumerism...and everything else. Delany's Triton and Heavenly Breakfast are also fabulous.

One of the plots in The One Hundred Nights of Hero is about the moon falling in love with a human man. I actually like that story better simply because the idea of the moon (or any "old" entity) imprinting on a baby is gross lol. Like, I don't know why Smith couldn't just have them fall in love once the character was an adult. 🤷🏽♀️
@ONYXPages5 жыл бұрын
Kay K I see what you mean. I didn’t think of time and space in that way. I thought of the girl and the moon as infinite beings, both having choice in it all.
@annoyedbyyourface5 жыл бұрын
@@ONYXPages The girl became an infinite being after uniting with the moon but before that, she was a human girl. I wish Smith approached their relationship they way you did because the backstory of how the being became a human girl would be really interesting along with how the moon knew it was them even as a human baby. Instead it's a lighter version of Jacob Black and Renesmee Cullen lol... 🤮
