I must say that I love (Yep, I'm using love, not even exaggerating) your reviews, recommendations, and opinions. So far, you are one of the few, or even only Booktuber that I know who's honest about books, not being over complementing every single book, especially the popular ones. And another unwanted confession, It is soo frustrating that I often want to read the books you recommend but they are not in my country (Colombia)! Please, keep doing these amazing videos! You are beyond greatness!

I definitely identify with hating something more just because people tell you you're wrong. I had the same with the Little Prince and honestly I don't think the book is actually that bad (I just felt kind of meh about it at the beginning) but everyone telling me how I'm just too stupid to understand the greatness of this book properly just made me hate it so much more. 😄

21:09 Post-apocalyptic and fantasy and sci-fi = The Book of the New Sun. A very literary and gorgeously written book, arguably the most beautifully written sci-fi. It's a challenging one though that makes you work for it but being made for rereads it can be a very rewarding experience. That said, on the flip-side, for some it can come off downright boring if you don't buy into it early on, but definitely worth a try.

I'm not sure if it is available in Canada but you should check out the Hoopla app. It is similar to Overdrive and LIbby except it's a virtual library so no waiting lists. I couldn't get into Nevernight. I hate that whole breaking the fourth wall thing, the 'yes, dear reader' nonsense makes me crazy. It pulls me right out of the story. Also the writing style was sooo endlessly full of metaphors. Blah. Disappointed.

Helgacabbage Agreed. I don’t understand the hype. Couldn’t get into the writing style and didn’t care about any of the characters.

I listened to it on audio book and really loved it! For me the writing style really worked in that format
