Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge how to run a project! I´m new in this area and I have learned a lot from you. I have gotten a new job as a production planner and will mostly use MS to create a calendar for the staff. This company (Calormet AB) have over 400 projects in a year, and in the high season we have about 40 engineers in the staff, working both in the factory hale and producing products, and working on projects together with our customer. My role will be to make a calendar / schedule and link to a big screen in the factory hale, so each engineer can see; who is going to work at what project in the near future / what each person’s task will be / short information about the project and what they will be needed to bring to the project. I also need to make a schedule for the factory hale (our production). All this information must be easy to read for the staff and easy for me to handle so I have more free time for other tasks. My idea is to have a Master project and link each project and in a smart way show a schedule. However it doesn´t seem to be possible, because the Microsoft Project file will be uploaded at Microsoft Sharepoint and I will only work with the file from there, so other people can work with the file as well.. I have viewed almost all your videos, but I don´t find answers to my questions. Could you give me some advise on how I could go forward with this idea? I´m so happy I found your videos on KZbin. You have helped me a lot already :)

Pretty good list. A few I never heard of and one that never clicked for me. Good to see what people recommend these days in the industry. I'd add on a few books that would be critical to anyone getting into the PM world (A CAPM myself): Effective Executive by Peter Drucker: This is an old book, but there are still executives who lean on it to move through life. This is a good snapshot as a manager to see what your customer (an executive) is looking for in their team. Effective Manager by Mark Horstman: The creator of Manager Tools and Career Tools, this is a great resource for anyone and everyone who wants to be a better manager. It uses what they have been teaching for over 10 years to assemble all their podcasts into an actionable effort. The Disciplined Listening Method by Michael Reddington: Also a master negotiator, this book helps put things into perspective when you are getting started with listening and negotiating. It is a no nonsense kind of book that appeals to people, so if Never Spilt the Difference doesn't click, check this one out as well.

If you haven't done so already, I recommend tailoring your resume to the jobs you're planning on applying to, and making sure you're including keywords and experience which directly aligns to what the job description is looking for. I also encourage you to network to others, to see if there are any possible openings you can apply to.
