This is crazy. My mom asked me if I'd like the Pure Malt she bought for my step-dad years ago. It's the Thierry Mugler too. She's going to throw it in with my other Christmas fragrances. A buddy of mine back in my clubbing days used to wear Amen Angel and the girls loved that stuff. Pure Malt will be my first Mugler scent.

Pure Malt and Pure Havane are both awesome! Definite winter fragrances! Pure Tonka is pretty good too. This one isn't part of the Pure line, but if ever you get your hands on A*Men Ultra Zest (it's super rare to find though), this one is a very good summery scent. 👍

I'm surprised how long it last. I sprayed it on in the afternoon, and still smell it on myself the next morning, would recommend.

Just ordered a full 100ml after trying a 5ml sample. It’s absolutely gorgeous, one of the few fragrances I’ve tried where I knew after the very first spray that I would be buying the full bottle. Same with Pure Havane actually, another beauty.

It's good, I have a sample of it and on my skin, it smells verrryyy close to Mancera Red Tobacco, which is much cheaper and beast mode! Something to consider :)

I enjoy the opening and middle notes, but I do not like that patchouli dry down, which is the same in Pure Havane. Thank you for explaining what Amen smells like.

If you want a solid clone of Pure Havane, check out Insurrection Wild II by Reyanne. I'm kind of disappointed I paid what I did for Pure Havane. I would have stuck with Insurrection for 20 bucks.

I choose pure malt over private accord, at first i thought that private accord has a playful cocoa note, i am imagining a creamy chocolate scent 😶, but it turned up bad, in fact it is a dark chocolate scent, with dark vibes, double dark LOL, not creamy at all

Might sound weird but yesterday I started the day with guerlain vetiver , applied fairly heavy , then toward the evening it cooled off and started to drizzle a bit so for a dinner I went with pure malt , with that vetiver base it screamed off my skin like never before .. I don’t really get into layering scents at all but those 2 just worked like crazy

Ok, got my bottle of Pure Malt last evening and here are my thoughts. The opening is a delight. It’s a very nice blend of the citrus and fruits with a noticeable touch of that A* Men DNA. The opening gets an A. On my skin it lasted almost 15 minutes which is exceptional in my experience. As it dries down, the secondary notes appear but they are subtle. I do get the whiskey, the malt and the patchouli and cedar. As I said they are subtle and once again, they too are well blended. I do not consider this a “whiskey strong” frag, the booziness is noticeable but not overpowering. After about 30 minutes it settles into the base notes with the peat really noticeable with the other notes creating a unique scent unlike anything I own. The dry down is A+. 9After about another hour it settles into the amber, vanilla musk finale with just a faint memory of the peat. I really like this one a lot. It’s very masculine, not in the least cloying and nice. The only negative is the lack of staying power. It’s pretty moderate for this type of fragrance in all aspects, performance, sillage and longevity. I recommend two sprays on each location or at least two on each side of your neck. Speaking of spraying, like all these A* Men’s the sprayer leaves a lot to be desired. As an aside, If you’re partial to aromatic fougeres or oriental spicy Frags, stay away.

Bought a sample recently. Very unique. To me it smells like boozy earthy red vines licorice. For those of you who know red vines, you will know what I’m talking about. Pretty good performance. A like, but not a love for me. Worth trying for sure
