I agree, the Attention Star is my favorite ball so far as well; never take it out of the bag. Looking into an Optimum Idol for the fresh, but everyone is suggesting I get the Black Pearl Urethane instead. Thoughts?

Glad you are seeing as much out of the Attention Star that I am!! As for the Optimum vs Black Pearl Urethane debate. These two balls aren't really comparable in any way. The black pearl urethane is going to give you a super early, a lot less down lane controllable reaction where the Optimum is going to be more of the benchmark reaction in the middle of the bag (cleaner through the fronts and much more down lane than the black). What kind of reaction are you looking for?

@@benlapointe14 I am a pretty high reved player and that is the main reason many of my bowling buddies suggest the Black Pearl, still don't get the Urethane love/hate thing. I like throwing across the lane and strong hook in the back end, just like the Attention. To be honest, my spare game is pretty weak to the point that I cannot throw a straight ball and rely on back hand to get rid of the 10 pin with a 85% success rate. Now, reading your reply I will probably get the Optimum since the motion it has is more my playing style, but just might go for the Black Pearl as well for shorter patterns. Thanks for the input, really helped me make an easier choice now. All I wonder about the Optimum is the 2000 grit out of the box... on the fence if I should resurface it. @@derekrojoharrington9445 I'm glad I could help! As for surface, I recommend throwing it with the box 2000 to see how it rolls for you and change it if need be! I love mine at box finish but if you want to see it get down the lane a little bit more shiny would work!

Great analysis of where the ball motion fits, this ball has been on my radar, with my low rev rate wasn't sure how much separation would there be vs the VEBO which is my favorite ball when i can throw it. Excellent information.

I got an Op Idol. It is crazy strong. Should I polish it?? I am seeing a lot of people have them shining!

I believe this is personal preference! Personally I love mine at the duller finish because I use it as something to throw more on heavier volume fresh conditions. I could see having more than one of these in my bag, with one being shinier for one the dull one starts to burn up!

debating between the attention star and vebo not sure what to get what would u say to get? i have a optimum idol too and im a two handed bowler with around 14-15mph speed ish

I think for the sake of separating pieces in your bag, the VEBO would provide you with more separation than the Attention Star would, but either way they would both be a good cleaner option than the Idol!

Yes exactly so idol would be the earliest, followed by the AS and then the VEBO
