@@pra2r Thanks for sharing the feedback. I will be in Chikkamangaluru this month & I was planning to stop here. After reading your comment, I most likely will not stop here. The problem is, most such shows are scripted, planned and orchestrated. The reality is very different. As long as the money comes in, the hotels don't care about providing quality customer services. I know a Hotelier in Chennai. He is originally from Udupi, running a small Udupi hotel. He used to say that not even one customer should go unsatisfied. He served all the customers with the same smile and warmth. This quality is missing in today's restaurant owners. They just need the name, fame and the money, but they're not bothered about the customer service/quality. Such establishments will have a run for a few years but will eventually die down.

Gr8 video. Feel you shouldn't drink coffee after a kesari bath :). A filter coffee tastes much better after a Masala dosa. Very fond memories of the city, I did my engineering in Chickmagalur, city has few great hotels including Town Canteen.

Kripal, for us, ordinary mortals, a 'Massla Dose' is just a Masala Dose...!! But, for a connosieur like you, each individual Masala Dose is a phenomenon by itself, as, you delve so deep into that to discern that one factor that makes it stand out...!! Kripal, it seemed you don't enjoy Rava idli version over regular rice idli ? How true is this? B'cus of less grainy texture and more soft and sponge? We often here prepare Rava idli at home due to easy method and time saving as well. The bonda soup other version you get at the city of Varanasi is known as Kanji vada is very popular go to snack there. Salty, hingoo and vada softness. Try sometimes

I am regular follower of your channel and before we visit any place we go thru your channel just to taste good food there but this mayura deluxe chikmagalur was totally worse ....we tasted rava idly and south indian meals and it was totally opposit to what you have explained .....coming from bangaluru with having eaten MTR rava idly ...rava idly @mayura disappointed that it dint really taste good it wasnt hot it was very dry .....and potato saagu also tasted very bad ...

Hello Prathima, It's unfortunate that you experience at the eatery wasn't what I savoured. Hope you also brought it to the attention of the establishment to enable them take remedial measures, if required. You may be aware that I speak for the food as it speaks to me, sans any inhibitions or commercial restraints. We do not do paid reviews. We pick eateries after research inputs based on existing customers, and this restaurant has many. I enjoyed the food here as do the regulars here and those who have visited after watching the video as you will find in other comments here and reviews elsewhere. I did mention in my review that the rava idli here is very gentle in its taste, it certainly isn’t as strong in its flavour as the ones you have mentioned. Also the fact it was cold and dry is not ideal. Wrt the South Indian meals, I haven’t tasted. So cannot comment. Whilst taste is also subjective, what may appeal to many may not appeal to a few, I there are times when an eatery can have a bad day and the food may not be up to the mark. You will appreciate there is nothing that we can do about the same. Great eateries are those that consistently deliver a great experience. Hope you appreciate our perspective. Thank you
