The reason that the fast food and street food is so cheap is that all of the food they buy are subsidised from the govt. So all the "poor" people in India can buy food essentials for dirty cheap prices, for example 1kg of rice is 1 rupee

In India, every 60kms. distance culture, food, traditions changes so there is no such thing as best food. It is just about taste which you like. There are millions dishes. 1 life is not enough to taste Indian food. For example, North Indians use tomato-onion gravy, but without coconut spicy gravy is incomplete for most part of India. Some use dry coconut, some use fresh coconut for spicy gravy. You have millions choices so possible you will like some dishes which others don't like, or vice versa. 🙏🙏🇮🇳🇮🇳

Hey @Aussie and @Tania, in India there is a vast variety of food if i start naming things, it will go in hundreds... Vegetarian and Non vegetarians both have various recipes.. They fine dining is also playing with recipes to make art recipes.. the kebabs, soya chaaps, butter chicken, kadhai chicken, Dal makhni, breads and the most amazing deserts..i will go and have whenever i go out.. and if you wanna try to cook some Indian recipes you should try Nisha Madhulika , she has a youtube page or Kavita's kitchen..

Food in India is categoried to hell based on region, utility, cultural amalgamation and history. For example the Galouti (melt in the mouth in Urdu) Kebab is a historical recipe by the royal chef of a Nawab of Lucknow who lost his teeth and thus the invention. So it is simply preposterous and a scientific impossibility to say where and what is best. I live in Bhopal, MP and I have 8 different kinds of samosas that are my favorite and it literally makes which one to have an executive decision. And that's just samosa, we have heavenly food throughout the city. Similarly, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Mysore, Surat, Banaras, Indore, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Jaipur, Udaipur, Katchh, Kolkata, and the list goes on and on. Practically every city has its own amazing thing they make, some variation of known ones and some completely different. And now the comment has become a mini blog post in itself so, that's it.

Pav bhaji is one of the best food you can make it requires a lot of butter and delhi is like a beasttt , if yoy stay there you should be familiar with what places will be less chaotic or comfortable . other part of india are much calmer delhi is a moving chaos 24/7 indian bread or roti is what we eat everyday with combinations of vegetable dishes , therefore it requires somone to cook whilst the whole family eats , which mostly mothers do thats why indian mothers are respected immesnly bcs they always look for others before them .

I live in kolkata but the best food I have ever had would be Delhi, kolkata and Lukhnow. What’s good about kolkata is that you would rarely get bad food. The worst food in most cities in inedible. The worst food in kolkata would still be edible.
