Great video! Swhacker makes low poundage broadheads that would have been ideal for this test! Also the entry hole was exactly what it's designed to do, the blades don't deploy until it's inside it's target. So that's the reason you got the 1" entry.

Hey I am fairly new to archery, trying to get my practice in before turkey hunting. Currently using a 30 lb draw weight recurve bow. What do you suggest the best grain arrow would be with which broadhead?

I dont think you can draw any conclusions about the Schwaker without high speed camera. Its not supposed to make a full cut on the target at the front or even at the back if its relatively thin as it seems was the case in your test. Might also be why it penetrated deeper, that it doesnt have to cut through all the thickness of whatever you're shooting at right from the start, like other expendables.

Good point. It did fully open up front on all our other testing with higher poundage. They make a good broadhead, but it may not be the best choice for low poundage and light arrow builds.

Do you think the low pound broad heads would work good for a 115KE 370 fps crossbow?

Noone ever uses the Swhacker #223/#224 1.75" cut low poundage broadhead in these low poundage tests. Thats odd.

Thats how the schwackers are made to work , they fully deploy after passing through the first layer they hit , they will always have a small entry bigger exit

Nice info. Why not design a broadhead using the 3 to 1 ratio : sides 3 in to base 1 in ? Which I believe has been proven to provide the best penetration. Just throwing an idea out there.👍🤔🏹🎯😉

Why would the EXT tip on the hybrid broadhead have worse penetration? Its got a narrower tip so I thought it would have better penetration

Really interested in trying out your broad heads. Soon as I have Some extra cash, may get a pack.
