I know that this would never happen to anyone else, but it did happen to me. Ten years ago or so, I paid $3500 for a Bushmaster BA50. I ordered it from Sportsman's Warehouse, the only one they had in stock was in Alaska. The order went through, and they shipped it to my FFL, but they messed up the paperwork. They didn't have a record of shipping it to me. They sent me three emails, asking when I would pick it up. I kept telling them that I had it, and was happy. They didn't know how to fix their books, so they refunded me the full price! I still love that rifle, it is amazing!

Maadi-Griffin bullpup single shot 50bmg rifle build for about $450.00 from scratch. To save money on ammo powder cost try plastic discarding sabot (50 cal sabot holding a 30 cal projectile)

I looked into this. It would had been an option 20 years ago. He is in prison for some BS gun charges and doesn't make his kits anymore. Also, the rifes are selling for $4k+ and kits are selling for $500-1,000 plus you need to manufacture a receiver for it. A fun project, but not a viable option for the vast majority of people.

I once shot a Barret. Wasn't too bad because the spring absorbs a lot of the recoil. I would imagine a bolt action knocking your arm out of socket...

It's about as bad as shooting a heavy slug out of a 12g pump. Just with a bit more push.
