definitely get the Base MacMini, because with the leftover Money you can get a good SSD and so many accessories

I have been using that Element Hub since 2020, when I bought my M1 air. It's the best thing ever.

Thanks for the recommendations. I had all the accessories you reviewed (although some were from different manufacturers) when I got my base M4 mini. I consider them all "essentials" for a good desktop setup.

Great recommendations, the accessories really do make the experience.

Would SanDisk Professional 1TB G-DRIVE ArmorATD, external 2.5" hard drive, USB 3.2 Gen 1, be better or worst option for external hd than the one you recommended?
@JerrySchulze4 күн бұрын
Well, I think the one you mention is a spinning disk that will max out at around 150-200MBps vs the Samsung SSD that can’t hit over 900 MBps. Separate from speed, I would trust an ssd over a spinning disk for longevity. Although, anything can fail so make sure you backup your data.

The budget reference is interesting for a keyboard and mouse combo that costs $150

So I've been playing around with the new mac mini. Gotta say the out of the box specs are a little thin. One I've had my hands on it 24 GB RAM/256 GB HD. I checked. Upgrade to 24GB RAM brought the price to $899. I6 GB RAM is a little under. 256 GB HD is way over. I really like this mac mini though. Performance is great. However, 1 game and the HD was full. Thinking about getting a 2 TB external drive and seeing if apps will run off the external drive OK.

is this display have scaling issues?
@JoeGibbsАй бұрын
I use the apple keyboard due to the TouchID. That touchid butten gets a lot of use.
@JerrySchulzeАй бұрын
I prefer that, too, but is is $150.
@billykellumАй бұрын
What about using the Apple Watch in place of the ID? Would that work?
@TalesOfWar24 күн бұрын
@@billykellum I think that only works for unlocking, Touch ID works in place of typing your password etc too when installing stuff or using the App Store and the like. It works for unlocking KeyChain too for website logins.

Took me awhile to find a native USB-C webcam that doesn’t require an adapter. Settled on the Logitech Brio 301.

For photo editing, would you choose the Asus 5K 27”, or the Benq 4K MA320U? I am curious, just your personal preference

I would love for apple to allow companies like Nuphy or Keychron to add a touch id button button.

Why do some KZbinrs talk about computer speeds in megaBITs per second and others in megaBYTEs per second?
@JerrySchulzeАй бұрын
Depends on what you talk about. There are 8 bits in a byte. Network speed is always in bits. Thunderbolt 5 speed is 80 or 120 gbps but when talking data transfer and storage, like to an ssd, this is in megabytes/gigabytes.

Bro ... how MX master products are budget accessories? Pebble 2 is a better choice.
@JerrySchulzeАй бұрын
I really wanted to like the pebble, but I just couldn’t recommend it. I wanted to showcase accessories that I would actually use so they may not be the absolute cheapest.

3:05 this button is such a design failure...why tf apple?
@TalesOfWar24 күн бұрын
Is it though? Most Mac users just put their system to sleep. They have the telemetry to back up the decision lol. People used to moan about the button being on the back of the iMac too. Granted, slightly easier to get to, but it isn't like this is a 20kg desktop tower you need to get to the bottom of. I bet a lot of people have these mounted to the back of their monitor facing outwards. I know that's where mine is going when I get one.

Budget compared to better displays. At the beginning of the video I explained that these products provide good features and a good value, and may not the be absolute cheapest. Hopefully some of the other items are helpful.

this cant be serious i clicked off the video as soon at you recommended a $70 mouse.... how is that budget. how much do people usally spend on mouses when they arent on a budget jeez. how does it make sense that people who are buying the cheapesrt base model mini for 600 are going to spend almost 100 just for the mouse

You lost me after the Logitech keyboard. Nobody that has tried many keyboards actually ever recommends a Logitech keyboard.... Basically you lost any potential credibility after that.
@jansix4287Ай бұрын
I hate everything Logitech. It's what you get when you are still a Windows user at heart. On top of that it's ridiculously expensive. I can get a Magic Keyboard with TouchID for that price!

I love my Logitech keyboard. Some things are subjective.
@jansix4287Ай бұрын
@ It’s objectively not a budget brand and the design is less clean and minimal compared to Apple. The USB-A dongle is hideous. It’s an alternative, but there’s no reason to recommend it.

Totally fine if you don't agree with a keyboard choice for a Mac mini. Hopefully some other items might be good for others who need them for their new mini.
