Slim par pro h-usb from Chauvet. We’ve used them for years for our three children’s theaters, they come packed with built in programs like color chase and light to sound features. They are extremely useful if you don’t have a fancy lighting console. Pretty cheap too,

how many of the front wash lights do you use for your stage? our stage is not that big, just 5x5x2.5 meters
@EvanDiDio6 ай бұрын
For these lights, I'd say a row of 3 may fill 1 section, then some kick lights to fill in the back :)

I lead Worship for a Chapel where we have to set up and tear down every week. I can't store the equipment there either. Is there a video you can post that can show me a good way to build as portable system that can be set up within a few minutes and that can be transported easily. To add to the complexity there is only 1 light switch for the whole room so I need to unscrew the fluorescent lights towards the front but they stay on in the back. So they can all be off and there will be limited light other than what I have and what comes in from outside, or it will be bright in the back half of the room. Can you help me with this challenge. I use ProPresenter and Multitracks so I can sync the lights to our click tracks.

@Daniel Busenbark That is a great question! I have some ideas 💡 I'm starting to plan the video so hopefully I'll get it out in 2-3 weeks. It will be cheaper and easier to move 👊

@@EvanDiDio awesome! It is for a military Chapel. I can send you a picture or two of the location. It is my wife and I along with my son who do the whole setup in about 10 min. There is an existing screen and projector and two medium TVs on either side. Seats about 200.

@@EvanDiDio And you said they'll do a mockup for your church too. It would tremendously improve our setup. We're using 2 1970s can lights with LED floods. They only light up the pulpit and the rest of the stage is very dark. Plus we only have one camera and use it with our screen to show content rather than overlays. We have a lot of improvements to make. Thank you soo much, my brother.

I looked at Pro Church Lighting before, but we didn’t jump for the mock-up. It looks like it is now $99. A little hard for us to justify that at the moment, but maybe at some point. Our big issue is giant floor to ceiling windows behind the stage.
@EvanDiDio2 жыл бұрын
Yeah! That would be hard to deal with. On camera it could be fairly simple to work with but in house is a different story What kind of glass is it? Stained or regular? I believe if you did get the mockup and get some of their lights the $99 would be removed from the final price.
@Angzarrr2 жыл бұрын
@@EvanDiDio It is a mix of clear and red and blue and yellow glass. The whole sanctuary has a lot of windows, so there are also floor to ceiling windows midway on each side and also in the back at the top. The sanctuary is a diamond shape, with all wood on the walls and a *curved* ceiling. Might still do the $99, but they said the credit has to be spent within 6 months, which is not something I am sure of at the moment, so either way I'm going to wait. We are also a 20-minute drive from Sweetwater, I'm not sure which is the better option. Our sanctuary seats less than 60. Your video was pretty helpful, so thanks for that. We also want to improve our sound, and hopefully get an assistive listening system. Lots of $$ for it all, but right now not in the budget. If we knew we could get a great lighting system for the budget we do currently have, we might jump on it. Or plan it for further down the road. Committees, eh.

Actually what you said at the end is the first way that I lay out front lighting in pairs from both sides and depending on stage and what I am trying to light the pairs of front lights are usually Lekos that allow for focused and framed lighting and then I fill in with floods or washes to light the stage evenly as fill lighting. In actual use the front light is say at 70%, fill and side lights at 1/2 that and the back light at 1/4 to 1/2 of the front light. Traditional stage lighting would have the front light at 45 degrees off center on each side and 45 degrees down.
