I didn't have any problem with it during my gaming sessions and I played only in performance mode not custom mode so I think you should go and buy it and just use performance mode

I'm going to buy it for Software Engineering and some gaming coupled with Unity+Unreal Engine coupled with compiling and coding.. this is the best laptop I found so far for all of the above with my current budget 1100USD. Maybe the only downfall that I can think of is the battery but even that can be upgraded if you really need the off charger light use. It's a gaming laptop after all so dont expect much especially paired with that HX intel cpu A powerful CPU with powerful dranning capacities lol

I just bought mine. I5 13500H with a 4050 and 1TB SSD with 8Gb ram for 770 on Amazon. Which i also went ahead and purchased 2x16 of DDR5 for an extra hundred.

14th gen is better if you are going to play cpu heavy games or you will do video editing but if no and you are on a budget then dont upgrade

I think Lenovo has better build quality when it comes to LOQ and Legion line up, but haven't personally tried dell yet.

let me tell you this. Dell locked the laptop to avoid the CPU from Undervolting so keep that in mind. if you can get your hands on the laptop in the video with the same CPU it will be much better since loq is nice with cooling thus they did not lock the same CPU version in LOQ. if I had to choose I will tell you to go for the loq but its up to you. do you prioritize cooling? battery? go for the loq paired with ryzen CPU. You need more cores, threads don't care much about battery dropping to 0 few hours in than go with dell. but if you want outright gaming only then lenovo is the winner. that's my personal opinion.

I have one with Ryzen 7 and RTX 4060, it handles very good temperatures. The processor rarely reaches more than 70°C and the video card never goes above 86°C, which is the maximum operating temperature. I have never had thermal throttling.
