Please do not insert the battery the wrong way. Damages the battery, drains it and could cause damages or even explosions. Use a little square of hard plastic and slide it between the contacts. Insert it in the battery compartment when in use not to lose it.

What kind of advice is that? Reversing battery polarity can cause device failure, short circuits, damage to electronic components, battery leakage, and in extreme cases, explosions or fire.

I own this one and a few other Energizer head lamps. They work decently and I’ve had them last for years. Only downside is they don’t offer replacement bands. So when they stretch. You buy a new band from another brand. Or get the material to make new headbands.
@benlopez9033 Жыл бұрын
I have two of those on my fire helmet. They last one to two years a piece. Better than buying $200-300 lights that crap out at 13 months and no longer eligible for warranty.

I agree with this advice. Minus reversing the battery. I've never had it turn on by accident.

Been using these lamps for years. Tried a bunch of other lamps since I bought this for the first time. There may be others with more lumens, but by far, you can't beat this for the price.

I got one of them. I was on a trip and realized I forgot my headlamp. Worked great, I’m still using the original batteries. You don’t need a $70 headlamp.

@MeOutside Жыл бұрын
@@spikeeus Me too. I have two Petzel Core’s, Actic and Tikka; not cheap gear. I have two rechargeable flashlights too; super high lumens and they last a long time. All cost a good bit. But the Energiser I picked up works fine too; if I need to loan somebody a headlamp they get the $15 dollar one and I use the $80 dollar one.

instead flipping battery polarity, just insert a small piece of paper or hard plastic between battery and holder, this will cut the power.

I've been using the red version of these for the past decade. The only problem is that the stretch band elastics loosen over the years and I haven't found replacements.
@PhoenixFlowerEmma Жыл бұрын
Can you not fold it then sew it to the required tightness? Or find heavy duty elastic from a fabric store/sewing place for say waistband or suspenders and sew it to the inside of the old elastic and then when right fit trim the old excess. I mean you could do it by hand or get a seamstress be good to practice your sewing first aid though incase you need to sew someome or yourself up before you can get to a hospital.
@briteidea0815 күн бұрын
Unfortunately Energizer doesn’t sell or replace the headbands. But other brands do sell replacements. Princeton tec bands work ok for a replacement. I have both a Princeton Tec remix and the one shown. The bands work well. Another thing you could try. Buy the material. Find a local alterations shop to make new bands.

These are good, but old tech. Plenty of budget headlamps with built in rechargeable batteries available, and the brightness doesn't fade as much as the battery drains.

I can get the same headlamp for 10$ at Decathlon (a french sports and outdoor megastore found across Europe) but with USB charging (off of the 50$ PV panel on my bag of course) Energizer must be really in a desperate spot still trying to hook people on throw away AAs in 2023.
