If you’re having back pains, maybe also best to use an external monitor with height adjustment. You can get a quality refurbished Dell monitor for around a 100 dollar. You’re already using a laptop stand which is great, but that screen is still to low compared to your seating position.

You still prefer the flinton over the markus? Tested flinton today very nice with armrests. I do like the markus for lounging but think my head and neck feels more free with just the flinton with armrests. Thanks

Thanks for making this honest video. I was also considering the Markus! But this review was 3 years ago. How do you like this chair today? Have you considered or heard of the Millberget or the Renberget?

Should have gone for Ikea Hattefjall, my man. All the problems you mention (height, headrest) are also my concerns and seem like technically non existent in that chair. The only two cons (not to me but for many people) is the backrest is not lockable, and the armrests have more distance between them to put your arm on them and type. However, both are not necessarily bad. You need to push a bit with your legs to recline the backrest, which is good because some of your leg muscles get a bit workout from this, whereas the ideal is to walk around and stretch, use your movement muscles in essence, every 20 minutes. Not having a headrest means you have more space to move your head, front, back, left, right, twist whatever you want to do between long hours of work. As for the armrests, if you have a properly height adjusted desk, you can just put your arms on the desk and have the monitor on top of couple of books to match your eye-height. Done! Ikea pretty much made a foolproof chair here. All these are hypothetical of course, I haven't bought either of these chairs but after going through people's experience online, these are my thoughts. Would be nice if someone who actually uses the Hattefjall chimes in!

Hi, do you still feel the same way about the chair? Do you still prefer it over the other chair?
@mireq34612 жыл бұрын
Thanks for review! Will the Flintan be good for a person with 193cm height? In my country, Flintan (with armrests included!) is like twice as cheap as Markus (75eur vs 150eur). Im afraid of not having the headrest. The problem is, I don't think there is any chair in this price range which could compare to this from IKEA.
@dreudax3294 Жыл бұрын
Hi, can you give an update, is the chair good? Also can the handrests be removed easily? I dont mind using screwdrivers, but is it easy to just remove the handrest alone without messing with any other components?

Just bought one too! I wonder if it is possible to adjust the tense extent of the chair back? For example ease the screws? Because it is a little uncomfortable to hold the chair back using force of my back. Just not that relaxed.

im 5 11 and i found the Flintan comfier than the markus after testing it out at the store. im still not super impressed with the flintan chair however. I don't like how the seat makes my legs slightly slide down. id recommend a footrest to fix that issue. im also not impressed with the cushioning of the seat. looking to resolve that as well. Ultimately, if for whatever reason, you go to ikea and want an office chair id recommend the flintan. but just stay away from ikea office chairs.

May I know why you sit on Markus in your latest video? Are there any problems with Flintan?
@inspectahdeck26423 жыл бұрын
It has no suspension. It's like a wooden chair with a cushion on wheels. He has back pain because even in the best chair you will get back pain, you have to exercise there is no workaround.

Have you sit on Flintan before? Actually I bought this chair. After days of sitting, I feel like the lumbar support hurts my lower back. The way you described is disappointing to me. I’ve bought this chair and I have a question: when recline mechanism is locked I sit down and I put pressure on the back of the chair with my back, it still reclines a little(1-2cm) until it hits the lock, the back is not fixed in place completely, is that suppose to be like that? Is that a part of the mechanism?

Hi this is a very old post, but I hope its okay to ask an uodate here. How is the chair now, especially the seats, are they good for sitting 6-7 ours continuos? Also Do you have the version with the handrest? Also the stiffness thing, i too felt weird when I was stiting in different flintans, but figures that the lever at the bottom can be adjusted to adjust the recliner stiffness.

Just a word of warning. I'm 5'6 and have owned this chair for a number of years and now suffer with back and neck problems. The chair is not suited for short people, the headrest will promote bad posture without you even realising it.
