Did you buy it from Amazon? This model has a recall on it. I was able to get Amazon to refund me (well only as gift card balance) and then I filled out a forum on Kuat’s site for a temporary safety kit for the rack.

thanks for the review, so I rocked a roof rack for the first time last year, worked like a charm but I find myself now researching hitch racks for no particular reason... you mentioned that you used just throw the bike in the trunk. I did that all my life with hatchbacks before I got the roof rack, and you know what, the more I use racks and research this stuff, the more I just feel like throwing it in the back of my SUV like I always used to do... lmao....... there are numerous advantages, #1 it's cheaper, #2 reduces chance of theft (you can leave it in a parking lot without worrying about it) #3. the best option for fuel economy, roof racks are stupid hard on fuel economy, even hitch racks will increase drag... And for those that complain about scuffing the vehicle interior, just use a moving carpet :)..... I'm not 100% sure I'll go back to that but def weighing the option...

If I had a larger suv I would probably still be doing it but it was definitely annoying with a 2 door wrangler on 40s lol.

Nice vid! Looking at getting a hitch rack and this is one of my options. How's the sway/movement when driving highway or bumpy roads. I'm driving 40+ hours so need something sturdy lol

As long as you keep the hitch bolt tight it's pretty firm!

I don’t like how that front wheel is hanging off the bar like that. The ratchet system is plastic on plastic so keep an eye on that. Replacement ratchet rails are available cheap.

It's been good so far. I do actually keep a spare arm just in case since I travel a lot with this rack but it's still good as new

2 questions: can you open your tailgate when you fold the bikes down? Will the bikes fit with your rear tire on the Jeep? Also, sweet bike and Jeep!

Thanks! 1. The truck won't open on the jeep unless I get a drop adapter or trim the tire holder a little. 2. If you mean the spare im pretty sure they would fit. If not an extension. 3. Thanks!
