Great vid mate, well explained. These would be good for beginners or someone that can't afford the true DSMR versions, absolutely! But 🥺 personally I would pay the extra dollars and get a true DSMR radio, model memory, many settings and options and amazing signal! Iv had my DX4C for years and never missed a beat. But im not in any way saying these are bad!

Great review Greg the SLT3 is a great budget transmitter my wife and I use the DX5 Rugged for crawlers, bashers and monster trucks a DX8 for rc flight & Flysky FS-GT3B & FS-i6 for Tamiya rc's we also have a shelf of just rtr transmitters lol 😉👍

In my opinion I have found that the Tactic radios are really nice, I love the grip of the tactic, and for a budget build it is very nicely priced, I upgraded my mini t 2.0 with a tactic I think tx300 is model number just a simple radio for like 45, bones, love it!! Love the different material here man !!! Not always about cars n trucks, good stuff !

I like this radio, mainly for the slt protocol. I have 2 Tactic transmitters with 8 or more vehicles a piece on them. I run the 325 recievers and the higher voltage 326 in most of my crawlers. These recievers have more range than any other that I have tested (important in RC boats). They hold up to water pretty well too. I have had awful luck with spektrum recievers, mainly in boats . Horrible range ,get wet and glitch. I will buy this radio and continue to buy tactic recievers. Love the lanyard loop! No I don't wear it around my neck. Lol . D-rimg and carabiner to belt loop on all my crawlers. Hands free climbing out on the rocks!

I have this radio (came with my Arrma Granite) I was under the impression that the 3rd channel could be activated from the rocker switch on the transmitter. The 3rd channel on the receiver being the AUX port. I have a simple LED light kit plugged into the AUX port, but the lights stay lit all the time. The rocker switch does absolutely nothing. What am I missing here?

I use the rocker switch to set my steering endpoints, great way to save your servo.

Most simple LED light kits only have 2 wires, power and ground. In order to switch something with the AUX port you need a kit with an additional data wire (all 3 wires). They also make adapters, usually called AUX switch, that will control 2 wire leds with the AUX port.

Bought my first rc basher arrma granite 3 cell, the tx SLT3 doesn’t seam to be very good. When I go from throttle forward to stop it stops pretty good but when I try to back up it takes it a bit to actually reverse

Have you heard any buzz about a soon coming Axe Edition V2 of the Redcat Racing Gen 8 Axe Edition? I called them yesterday and inquired about why nobody appears to have any Gen 8 Axe Edition kits. They informed me I can get one from them. When I asked if they're working on a new model of the axe edition, he expressed he can't say yes or no, but he also hinted I may want to wait a little because their might be a V2 coming soon with huge improvements. I tried really hard to get more information on it, but he was only allowed to hunt to the strong possibility of it coming very soon, leaving off by saying to me the Axe Edition is a great RC truck I'll be very happy with, but also stating I'd be very happy with either truck (either being the Axe V1 or the Axe V2). I'm dying to know more. BTW, I also asked if said vehicle was about to be released, would it be more expensive or the same price as the current Axe Edition, and the answer was "The same price".

Love the channel! But I’m sorry, theses are RTR junk., which is why you can buy them on eBay new for $40 shipped . Radiolink is the best bang for the buck, rc4gs and rc6gs. Their 4/6 channel gyro receivers are $16, gyro receiver with battery telemetry is $21........oh.......it also has RSSI standard.10 model. Memory and real adjustments and mixing through a LCD screen 😎

@RCDriver_Online, I bought the SLT3 for my son's Tamiya TT-02 as he wanted something simple with good ergonomics. We have the SLR300 receiver. Couple of questions for you: (1) Did you get a chance to test the range on the SLR300 receiver? (2) The TT-02 comes with the TBLE-02 ESC. The output jack from the SLR300 receiver doesn't fit into the ESC, it looks like there is a hinge that we have to cut off in order to fit ? Have you had that experience with your Tamiya build ?

cut the plastic tab off. its fine slide it in. make sure you read up how to set the end points its really easy withthe tt02. the receiver will steer much further than th tt02 allows. its got mega range further than you could drive the car. the tble-02 is a great esc.

@@High_Octane BTW, my son loves the SLT3, so easy to use, comfortable too. The end point adjustments are a plus. However, we were wondering if we could use a gyro with this. Can we plug the gyro into channel 3 and just turn it on ? I know no adjustments on the gyro but curious.....

Ever since I had a GT3B arrive with a dead screen I haven’t really considered Flysky. And since these are dedicated radios for 2 channel cars in my situation, the SLT3 is the better choice.

Hey Greg! Cool Video. So the cool thing about the Traxxas receivers is that it remembers multiple transmitters but only allow one transmitter active at a time which allows me and my son to swap RCs without rebinding. Does the spektrum receiver do the same thing?

Doesn’t even compare to a DumboRc, Spektrum has horrible range. Even the Spektrum dx5c that I have with the 6100atc receiver has terrible range compared to the DumboRc.

I've had 0 problems with my slt3 when it comes to range and responsiveness , max range is almost too much for a 1/12 scale you wont be able to even see your rc and this remote still gets signal to it, i upgraded from a Chinese wltoys remote to this and at least for me is a night and day given i had the v8 remote and it wasn't that bad but this is on a other level when it comes to budget friendly remotes.

@@creativetech215 sure , i can help : 1. on the rc make sure the antenna from the receiver is straight up . 2. use name brand AA batteries. ( dont use cheap , dollar tree batteries) 3. make sure your receiver and rc remote are paired correctly. 4. if any of those didn't work , then my hypothesis is that either your receiver is going bad and losing signal or the actual rc remote controller has a bad antenna 📡 .

The world is changing. My buddy sold his automotive repair shop because cars are being designed so only dealerships can service them. He got out early. For many people dealing with a dealership is fine and convenient. There will always be others that will find a way to do it themselves. Same goes for the hobby. You can assume the risks, void warranties and enjoy and modify your RC model the way you want to.
