The roasted maple neck of the jet deserves the price alone...i have the sonic blue version.....just a few years back you needed way more money to get a guitar with a neck like that and now its on every jet guitar....great value.The frets are indeed rough but after you polish them that guitar is ready to go as is.... Now if you want to make it a high end guitar thats a great platform...iam a modder so i installed big Stainless steel frets,kinman pickups,new electronics....i also scalloped the fretboard installed new custom inlays...basically made it an excellent alternative version of a malmsteen strat but for whatever reason you get it...that guitar is a great deal.

I'm a lefty and I bought a white JS-400 just before Christmas because of the roasted maple neck and the price. I was blown away by the fit and finish, the quality of the hardware at the price point, the feel of the guitar. For a beginner, you are right, it would be easier to continue learning because you would not be fighting the instrument. The instrument was perfectly setup. The pickups are surprisingly dynamic- they do not have the same harmonics as alnico but whilst being much hotter still capture the zing of the strings and very fun to listen to and interact with. I am even going to keep the factory strings on until they deaden. The only thing that needs changing is the tone pot - like many other left handed instruments double or triple the price the tone pot is on-off because it is not anti-log. I gave in to temptation and bought a blond JT-300 and it arrived yesterday. Stunning looks. This one needed tweaking, I had to lower the action and loosen the relief a tad on the neck, it only took a couple of minutes. Tone pot will also need changing on this instrument. It plays wonderfully and feels awesome in the hands. A couple of marks on the finish of the body that can be polished out. The pickups are quite hot. Both instruments are really quite lovely and playable. I do feel very spoilt. A left handed JT-350 would be amazing but would I spend £300 on it given how little they're selling the JS-400 and JT-300? Maybe... if they add proper lefty PTB wiring.

Got the JS-400 a week ago. I'd agree with everything you say. The setup was perfect, even down to the trem dropping a perfect semitone. Only possible criticism is the frets were a little scratchy, easily rectified. This guitar is the best value of any guitar I've owned, and considering I've been playing over 50 years and own an OCD number of guitars, that's saying something...

@JohanJoosLaur3 жыл бұрын
@PlouplePoupi3 жыл бұрын
Bonne semaine Johan🍒
@JohanJoosLaur3 жыл бұрын

I chose this particular Strat HSS HT over all the Squire Strat and the others except for the Monoprice. Oh! I didn't even consider Harley Benton. I would never own anything Harley Benton makes! The reason I mentioned Monoprice I just found out about their guitars after buying their Tele and after researching they have various ranges and for the last two years they started having a luither set up all models no matter what price range!

Jets are amazing guitars. How they can do it for so littke money, I dont know. Love my Jet! 👍
@RomainG64093 жыл бұрын
Hi Johan, thanks for the video, where did you buy the Jet ? in the UK ?
@TheMrClaus3 жыл бұрын
First off, I started following you since your colab with Cordy. Love your playing style! Now to my question: Would you say the Jet is better than the Harley Benton’s ST guitars? I have bought the ST-62DLX (white with gold hardware… just deliciously gorgeous) but am wondering if I should also try the Jet
@JohanJoosLaur3 жыл бұрын
Hey Marcello ! Thanks so much for the kind words ! The Cordy's a beast :) Answering your question will be impossible for me as I've never tried the ST62 (...yet ahah), so I wouldn't risk any definite statement aha. To be honest before I bought the JET brand new few weeks ago (I so rarely buy brand new), I was really looking for a used HB ST62. Even almost bought a pink one aha. But I was so intrigued by these JET guitars for months, the roasted maple, the specs, the finish, the new brand etc...I ended up buying this JET. The main reason I think I'd like the JET much more than the HB (but it needs confirmation !) being the radius ! The flat radius one the ST62 scares me aha. It doesn't bother me at all on the TE20 for example, because it's such a cheap guitar and it looks awesome, so I don't mind much. But on a "bit more serious" Strat like the ST62, I really think I wouldn't like the neck because of the radius. 9.5" on the JET is really "Strat like", if that makes any sense ! As of the rest, I wasn't expecting the JET to be this good at all. When you look at the website, the specs are actually SO underestimated lol, which is weird for a brand ? Full thickness body, full size trem block, super nice looking hardware, the very discreet cutaway "cut", etc...none of this is mentionned for example. So that was a great surprise, not to mention the neck of course which is just brilliant ! But I know lots of players do love their ST62 too so I'm curious to give this one a go definitely and maybe compare these two :) HB do make great guitars definitely. The white one with gold hardware must look so damn great !! Love the finish options both from HB and JET. Which JET would you be interested in trying ? The JS300 ? How do you feel about the radius on your ST62 by the way ? Is it something that ever bothers you or never been a problem ?
@TheMrClaus3 жыл бұрын
@@JohanJoosLaur Thanks for taking your time to reply! THe ST-62 is a great guitar and I am very happy with it, so happy that I have been holding off swapping the stock pickups with some Lindy Fralin I have here. As for the neck, it really isn't that big of a deal. Yes, it is thicker than my other guitars, but it doesn't bother me as much as some people say on the internet, doesn't hurt my hands or anything. Took me about 10 minutes to get used to it I am actually interested to buy their Telecaster (JT-300) looks like it has similar specs to the JS-300, and looks to be significantly better than the TE-20 (or any tele that HB makes).

Try the jet you will not be disappointed
@johncollins5552 Жыл бұрын
I jave the jet tele lefty, the strings it came with are too light, they must be nines and the action was a touch too low out of the box so I have raised it a touch using the allen keys that come with it so it feels great now and I also gave it a belly cut so it sits better. I think I will gey the lefty jet strat soon with the humbucker.

Tu as un truc Johan. Waiting for your answer ;)

Hey Pura !
