Learn about the best bushings for longboard dancing and cruising. During this video I spent an entire 8 hour day at the park testing a whole bag of RipTide bushings in my Paris V3 trucks on my Moonshine MFG Jeff Corsi Hoedown longboard dancer. Whether you're looking to upgrade your cruiser with some longboard bushings or are ready to take your longboard dance flow tricks to the next level, upgraded bushings will definitely help!

Excellent video! Bushings are something that as a beginner you don't really think of and then you realise that they're probably the most important thing to get dialled in to your own weight and style and feel. I LOVE Riptide bushings and APS are my choice for all my boards too! Great rebound and return and feel so controlled and smooth. I'm a 58 year old Dad with young kids who love to skate so they keep me at it! Old ...but I can at least afford good kit! ;-) LOL Un abrazo de España!!!

I have to say I was really wanting a straight answer but after watching your video like 5-6 times I'm understanding why there is so much thought put into it. Reminds me of the downhill guys breaking down their setup and they have like 4 different bushings.

HI Brandon, so I have a Loaded Icarus that I picked up to keep in shape for snowboarding season. I have never really longboarded before but am finding it very addictive and working on my 180 step to switch. I just got ahold of orangatang nipples orange and purples and find that I really like the Orange board side and purple road side as the orange turns really easy and purple roadside seems to stiffen up at the end. How do the riptides feel compared to the orangantangs? I am thinking of trying some out

Do you think it was the bushing shape or the bushing hardness/softness that had more to do with the "stiffness" of the board?
@desgnarlais
@desgnarlais 4 жыл бұрын
Shape mostly affects range of motion and the dynamics of how much it stiffens up towards the end whereas duro is the resistance. Does that make sense?

Hi, nice video. Is that the street cone bushing or the cone in the longboard section of riptides website, they are differnt slightly i noticed. Cheers
@desgnarlais
@desgnarlais 3 жыл бұрын
It's the longboard cone. The street cones are slightly shorter which will give you less range of motion

At the end you described how APS felt compared to Krank, but you described APS like kinda having more rebound than krank. I thought that krank were their heighest rebound formula which is far from gushy. They way u described krank at the end sounds like WFB formula should be like, according to what riptide says on their website. I got kinda confused now, cuz i was looking to get a set of riptide kranks because i wanted the stable center and high rebound for freeriding as they provide according to riptide, but your experience is kinda different now lol. PS: looking forward to some freeride and DH tipps, cornering, predrifting etc. :)
@desgnarlais
@desgnarlais 4 жыл бұрын
S. Sümertas sorry for any confusion. This video was definitely a bit of a ramble 😅 to summarize, APS stiffens up quicker and more drastically whereas Krank has a much deeper range of motion (even when tightened down a bit). For downhill I really like the extra range of motion with KranK, especially in my rear truck. For longboard dancing I prefer to have a looser center that stiffens up quicker so I can stand on the edge of my board without it turning too far. Hope that helps!
@s.sumertas9206
@s.sumertas9206 4 жыл бұрын
@@desgnarlais Yea that helps a lot and makes things clear. And i kinda like the same feeling on my trucks for dancing and freeride too. I was riding venoms on my freeride trucks and they are great no doubt about it but since my trucks run 2 tall barrels they kinda stiffen up too much at some point which is not what i like so i have to use softer bushings that i actually would like to compensate for that a little bit. And for my hoedown i setup my paris trucks with harder otang nipples kinda for the same reason as you do with APS, i like the high rebound and i want dont want the trucks completely turn in as soon as i place my foot on the side without leaning. Hence the reason i removed the stock barrel/cone Combo. For dancing i appreciate the high rebound and defined centerpoint. For freeride i like to have some sort of center but i dont want the bushings to have that much rebound that it pushes against me, nor do i want them to stiffen up too quickly, another reason why i dont like Barricals/Fatcones for example. I think i really needa look into Riptides, ill wait for ur DH info video to drop my dawg 🤙
