Hey, really good video! I do tend to do my bushing tightening different from the usual advice. I find that when I tighten the bushing to the point where I can spin the washer isn't tight enough. It always introduces rattling for me as the bushing compresses under my weight. Personally I tighten the bushings to a point where its tight enough to not rattle, but also not so tight that it gets deformed. I really think as long as its not deforming after tightening it's all good

I got few Venon but I can't put 2 barrels on my Bear Gen6, the kingpin is short, I want use 90a plug bottom is ideal for my weight and 93a top, but seems impossible on the 40°.

Can you explain about formula bushing If i want to hybrid bushing between 2 formula for example Riptide APS Board side and Krank Road side. What is common setup about formula APS should be boardside Krank should be roadside WFB should be ...
@downhill254skate2 жыл бұрын
Yeah that would be a good video. A bit difficult to explain and find the right feel ... I think I'd always like the higher rebound and higher duro bushing boardside ...

I'm trying to replace the flimsy cup washers that come with the polar bear 105mm trucks. I swapped mine with some thicker ones from dimebag that looked fine at first, but I think they are too small and are actually cutting into my cone bushings on deep carves :/ Anyone know a good cup washer that is a bit thicker/heavy duty that fits polar bear trucks nicely??
@nickamarit2 жыл бұрын
I like to put plug barrels on the roadside. I feel that when plug barrels are on the roadside, the truck doesn't want to return to center as much as when the plug barrels are on the boardside. However, slop-elimination stays basically the same either way.
@downhill254skate2 жыл бұрын
Thats interesting! I will actually try that soon. Why do you want less return to center?
@nickamarit2 жыл бұрын
@@downhill254skate It's just how I like my bushings. I'm a "Riptide WFB > Venom HPF" person, and Riptide WFB has less return to center than Venom HPF of the same "equivalent hardness" (not duro), i.e. comparing 87A Venom HPF with 93A Riptide WFB will get roughly the same "equivalent hardness".
@downhill254skate2 жыл бұрын
@@nickamarit Ahhh that makes a lot more sense now. I wish riptide made some plug barrels, could probably mill some from some tall bushings, but would be cooler to have them readily available

How did you work the Barrell to Barrell on the bear trucks. Thought plug barrels had to be on board side for the gen 6?

can I just put longboard bushings on my skateboard truck? I'm currently using the very hard bushings from bones, but they don't feel good, they crack very loudly and are still not hard enough for me. so I would like to try such a super hard longboard bushing
@MonchkinLand11 ай бұрын
Longboard barrels are too tall for normal tkp skate trucks (street/park skating). But you can still apply these principles and buy yourself aftermarket street barrels or barrel/cone setup. I highly suggest trying a barrel/barrel setup using riptide Krank street barrels. Buy the right duro for your weight and if you really want to fine-tune then buy one harder and one softer barrel to adjust the back boardside and front roadside positions (to stiffen the back or open up turning on the front). If you ride switch a lot then you’ll prob want both trucks to turn identical so use all same duro or match bushings/washers for both trucks.

As a beginner to longboarding, does it make sense for me to start with harder, barrel bushings for stability while learning and then once I'm more comfortable, switch to softer bushings and go barrel/cone or something for more liveliness or does it not matter that much and I should just learn on the stock bushings?
@MonchkinLand11 ай бұрын
Yes that makes perfect sense to start that way and if doing any kind of downhill I’d def run barrel/barrel setup. Make sure to buy longboard barrels and not street barrels.

Hey downhill, I need a stiffer set of bushings for my set of polar bears I have on my ditch life. I was just hoping that you might be able to tell me if a Venom HPF Eliminator for the board side, and a Riptide krank chubby for the roadside would fit? (I couldn't find the size for the bushing seats anywhere online. Sorry for bothering you.)

Hi Abuga, can you measure the Venom Plug bushings? I’d like to compare them with the stock Gen 6 Bear bushings. Which are 19mm tall, 4mm for the plug 15mm for the rest. I emailed the companies that sold it but haven’t got anything back and it’s not listed on their websites.
