I usually shoot with a RF 70-200 f2.8 on my main body, and either a EF 24-70 2.8 or RF 35mm 1.8 on my 2nd body just for the group photos. Otherwise you can cover most situations with the 70-200. I also have a 16mm in my bag if I need to do something wider than 24.. pretty rare though.

Yes I love the 70-200 to be incognito at events and for the far-away shots. 24-70 is my workhorse for those grip and grin shots and on the fly shots. :)

I love my r5! Can't wait to get the r5ii. My event lens is the 28-70. F2 is twice the light of 2.8 so it's so good for low light. I'm waiting for my 10-20 to arrive. In the meantime I use the 16 2.8 or the 24 1.8.

Awesome, great tip!! Thnx for the comment! :)

I talked to a canon rep and he said R5ii is a myth and there has not been any actual talks about it. Just consumer speculation. Unfortunate I know
@onlysublime9 ай бұрын
@@Theelockerroom there's no way it could be a myth. Camera development isn't frozen in time. The r6ii came out. So will the r5ii
@Theelockerroom9 ай бұрын
@@onlysublime lemme rephrase. The r5ii is not in the works and has not been talked about being in the works. Per the rep. I’m not saying myth as in it will never come out. But I’ve seen some people say it’s gonna be this year. Which it isn’t

What do you think, do you use the same gear? Would love to hear your thoughts!

using kit lenses with canon 550d but hopefully will be able to upgrade!
@rachelcapil9 ай бұрын
Ya you need to eventually upgrade but I totally get it. You can make $ with that but the cropped frame is where you will struggle. Stay tuned I have so much more planned for YT this year so you will get a lot more info from me! :) @@JMYt848

It depends on the situation. For example, if I'm traveling and bringing limited gear, I might bring just two lenses: a 35-150mm f/2-2.8 and an 85mm f/1.4. The 35-150mm is _very_ versatile, and the 85mm gives me extra bokeh and light when I need it. My first photography job was a housewarming party, and there I found dual wielding cameras with 24mm f/1.4 and 50mm f/1.2 primes worked well (nice background separation when I wanted it given relatively little space). When I shoot a wedding, it's an all hands on deck situation! My 35-150mm f/2-2.8 is my general purpose backup lens, the 70-200 mm f/2.8 is for the ceremony, multiple primes for the dancing in a dimly lit room, the 50mm f/1.2 for the first look, etc.

The only event photography I do is concert photography. I'm so happy I got the 35-150 from Tamron with my Sony A7C

@@MadcapMatt Aww love it! I thought about doing concerts at one point in my career - I have seen so many cool shots with the fisheye!
