I find in all the side by sides that the Zv-E10 has a better sharper definition and the Mark II is a bit more blurry

Yah my eyes kept going back to the Zv-E10. It looks more shaper and I like the colours more but the Zv-E10 mark 2 has a better battery and is future proof. 🤔 I can only save for one camera. I’m planning on doing vlogs and KZbin. I also want to use it as a better webcam. I plan on doing indoor and outdoor vlogs, I’ve always wanted a camera I can use for a long time.

I own a zv e10. Still good for webcam/backup/starter vlog setup. It could hide exif data so no mcafeen geotagging security flaw and it could also adapt vintage lenses to prevent being spied on.

I'm happy with my ZV-E10. Works amazing with that 16mm Sigma lens! I don't think I'd classify it as a beginner camera. I think I'd call it more of a mid tier camera. The Canon m50? That I think is more classified as a beginner camera now. I'm still learning it but there's still so many accessories and adapters you can get that it's not even funny. I'm still learning about how to use it best with lens filters and settings. Hopefully I can help it work better with my channels. Thank you!

I think my ZV-E10 is great camera for the price I got it. I had traded couple of cameras which ended up with me 450€ on body + 2 lenses. Each Lens to me cost 50€. One is the basic kit lens and the other one is 55-210mm zoom lens. I spend from my wallet just 175€ for minimum 550€ ZV-E10 setup. Thanks to trading up the cameras.

Very very basically, if you’re color grading, go for the MKII. otherwise the difference really isn’t that big. If you’re on a MKI, no real need to upgrade unless you’re dying to color grade.

The E10 II feels overpriced considering there's no IBIS or physical shutter, especially with the A6700 being an option that's coming on sale now at not much more. Personally I stretched my budget and got the E1 which is an incredible camera for the price.

Thank you for the fantastic review! - Given these particular high quality cameras tend to run hot and sometimes overheat, do you have a suggestion for a camera that does 4k60 in low light that can run 24/7 (assuming it's hooked to mains power)? - For years, I've used a panasonic lumix g85 and have had great experience with it, it sits on a tripod behind my monitor behind my teleprompter, it has never overheated or even felt warm, but given it's an mft camera, doesn't have all that great low light performance and is a bit long in the tooth, so I'm starting to look around for replacements. thanks!

Hi Josh! Using a dummy battery power adapter can definitely help mitigate overheating issues. To enhance cooling, you might also consider pairing it with a fan. It delivers the same image quality but comes in a more robust body with an internal fan for better heat management.

It depends on what you’re filming but generally speaking, if you have a setup with lights and stuff, I’d recommend one main angle, your key light on your preferred side at about a 45 degree angle and your secondary camera on the opposite side to your key light.

5:20 Is KZbin compression messing with the footage here? I find it hard to see what’s going on here. The MK II footage seems noisier but the MK I footage looks like it’s softer (like you’d get with aggressive noise reduction). Anybody got any idea why that is?

No, but I noticed it too, also (maybe it was something in post? Idk)? But I also noticed in the comparison footage at that (big round monument/park walk place) the film on the ZV-10 looked really smooth and more cinematic. Like it had the right U.V. Filter or something. (Maybe it’s personal too, I’m still quite a greenhorn). Forgive me if I sound strange, I don’t exactly even know the jargon yet). Lol. However, I think I saw some of the things you’re talking about in several clips. (Well, he mentioned it over exposes a little, as a regular thing? So)? Maybe thats part of it too. 8:35 Can't you just fix the rolling shutter problem by getting a faster shutter time and bump either the aperture f and/or the ISO? If you have enough light, off course.

The issue isn’t the shutter speed, it’s the readout speed of the sensor, which is fixed (by hardware desgin basically) and independent of shutter speed. Following the 180° shutter angle rule can cover up slow readout speed somewhat, but only in the sense that the gello-y mess is blurred so it’s less noticeable how gello-y it is ;)

@@rickbiessman6084 So... If you play with the shutter speed, you will get a more or less motion blurry effect, but the exact same Jell-o/rolling regardless. I think I got it. Basically, to get less rolling, you need a faster processor/sensor/computer magic. Thank you for your explanations. Respect from Montréal!

Could get the ZV E10 for 599€ with the kit, a pouch and an SD card while the ZV E10 ii would cost me 1050€ for the body. Camera would be just used for talking head videos. I think it ain't worth the higher price on the mark 2, right?

Just for talking head videos - not worth the upgrade at all. The ZV-E10 Mark I is exactly what you’d want for that. But I’d recommend staying away from the kitlens. Because of the dark aperture, you may run into issues with noisy images much more than you’d expect, and also doesn’t give you a very shallow depth of field. ...which isn’t always necessary on talking head shots, but it would be nice to have the option. I’d recommend a prime lens with at least an f/2.8 aperture.

The Mark II more so than the Mark I because of the faster sensor readout speed (less noticeable rolling shutter effect) and 10 bit, which allows you to get much nicer colors in post processing and also much better dynamic range. But depending on what you do, the Mark I might do the job too.

Wish I had a budget. Oh, I did and scraped up enough for a Cannon M50 that you all and others hyped. Then Cannon dropped it like a dirty dyper.
