I like how they stack all those empty cardboard boxes in these 70's car chases for the gangsters to crash into !! ..... The trend seems to follow on into the 80's and 90's ? .... I still love it. The Sweeney was my favourite cop show. .... What a shame all those beautiful cars were totally destroyed - If only they knew how much they would be worth today, but then again, they were plentiful back then. .... Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Judging by the churned up grass on that first jagged turn off the tarmac and onto the common, they’d done quite a few takes so far.

The front-wheel-drive Renault 16 acquits itself very well in that first chase (from "Money, Money, Money") whereas Regan and Carter's rear-wheel-drive Consul is fish-tailing all over the place - though maybe for dramatic effect! Look out for a scene earlier in the chase (not shown in this video) in which the stunt driver (Peter Brayham?) driving the Renault 16 takes a junction very fast and the inside rear wheel lifts about 2 feet in the air.
