BEST CAR VACUUM FOR VANLIFE?/CAR CAMPING? / REVIEW: Black+Decker 12V Corded Flex Car Vacuum

Are you looking for a good car vacuum? This review is made particularly for how the BLACK & DECKER 12V Flex Car Vacuum works for vanlife / RV living / car camping / road trips, but can also be viewed for its general use as an every day car vacuum (car hoover). The design of this 12V vacuum differs a bit from most other ones, the differences are what makes this vacuum a good choice for a more detailed clean and for using it like a house style vacuum in a van or RV. You can obviously use a regular vacuum, if you have an inverter installed in your camper setup, however, a high capacity system would be needed in order to not drain the batteries, even with a smaller style canister vacuum (I know this, as I have tried).
SIDE NOTE: Black & Decker has apparently been Black + Decker since 2014 *Mind blown*.

As you will see in the video I believe this is a solid choice of vacuum for vanlife. I explain why by showing you its performance, dimensions and functionality. I would go so far as to say that it is one of the best 12V car vacuums I have used (I have not used plenty, but have tried a few). This Black and Decker vacuum has good suction, decent size dust chamber, a long 12 V chord and a very long hose with two different nozzle attachments. It is easy to empty. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the filter, I explain why in the video. This vacuum works fine on solar power or using the cigarette lighter outlet in your car or van. (There is a cordless lithium battery operated 20V version of this vacuum as well, in case that works better for your situation. However, it's naturally quite a bit more expensive. Yeah, I could have filmed my solar display while it’s on I suppose, but I have limited monitoring capabilities with my basic setup. It’s a 12v though, so very little power draw over all. I wouldn’t use a vacuum of any sort while you don’t have power being replenished by sun or running engine though. Thanks for watching. :)

Its 12volt as we know. it is not listed anywhere on the web, but on the box if you buy one its says 6Amp consumption, so to get the watt you 12vx6A=72Watt

Are you still happy with this vacuum. I see many complain about lack of suction and longevity.

So far so good. It needs to be cleaned out properly and it should be said that I am very low use. I mostly weep and only bring this out now and then when I need a thorough clean reaching into pokey places, which I feel this does better than most other ones I’ve seen. But of course it’s not as powerful as a vacuum that is 110v. If you have the option to plug into regular power rather than 12v that’s always a big difference.

yes,I was to say the same thing,u must clean the filter regularly on any vacuum to keep good suction.i have this model and am very pleased.i found food crumbs under my seats that the car wash people never got.if the crevice tool was an inch longer I'd be 100percent happy now I'm just 99

Is it possible to wash the filter in this vacuum cleaner with water?

It does say in the manual that you can rinse it in water. It says to primarily just tap it and the dust will come loose, but states that if necessary you can rinse it with warm soapy water. States to make sure filter has dried before putting it back in.

I believe I’ve had this for about a year now. I don’t exactly use it all that often though. Most of the time it’s faster to sweep such a small space, I mostly use this for the deep cleans.
