I have been doing detailing on the side for many years now and I was told from a wise man early on to go check out a local commercial carpet cleaning supplier. It opened up a whole new world to me and has helped me get much better results. I have got good results for a company called Prochem. I use their Citrus Pro pretreat and the ultrapac trafficlean for the most part on any vehicle carpet interiors. I then follow up with their fiber rinse in my extractor to neutralize the carpets. This is some very valuable information that more detailers need to start looking into.

Great video! I actually started off in the carpet cleaning industry before i started detailing and its helped me a great deal. I can see the passion you have in learning different chemicals and problem solving. Just be careful not to go too far down the rabbit hole, you might end up on the carpet cleaning side of things permanently lol. Its extremely profitable. Id put that knowledge you have of the chemicals and the steamer/extractor and do residential upholstery work if its slow during the winter. I see you channel blowing up in the future. 👍

@@HawkProDetailing I got a job offer that paid more at the time but after a few years i missed running my own business so i started detailing and kept growing from there. In carpet cleaning $500-$1000 days were normal for residential, $1500+ commercial jobs np. Just requires more cash to invest in equipment than detailing but like i said alot of tools, chemicals, equipment can be used in both industries. Cars are very cool, but the instant gratification of taking "rat nasty" carpets and making them brand new again is pretty cool also. But diversity in your business can be profitable and fun at the same time.

I *know* APCs are not the greatest for carpet cleaning. But for a simple in & out detail where I’m going ONR wash and using that to wipe down the hard surfaces-I like the idea of using power clean 10:1 as an alkaline “all-purpose” carpet cleaner for those common acid based food and organic stains. What’s your thoughts on this? I know your recommended that one product in this video for “in & out quick cleans” but I have a very limited “rig” (being my cars trunk) and I already know power clean 10:1 is a great APC for every other surface. I’m thinking test thr pH of the stain, hit acids with power clean and rinse with ONR since apparently that does neutralizeit

Hi Nick, excellent video on carpet cleaning and explaining use of proper chemicals. I was wondering if there is a product that I can purchase OTC at a box store like lowes or home depot to use as a pretreatment for carpets? Possibly a gallon to dilute to be more economical? I purchased some Folex recently; Can that be used as a pretreatment? Thanks for the help!
@HawkProDetailing6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Kyle! Question -- will you be extracting after? Do you have a rug doctor or bissell to extract the carpet? If not, I would recommend something ph neutral. Let me know and I can do some homework to find you the best product

Kyle Suda so I’m sure there are some options in big box stores but I have a feeling your Super Cleans are going to have a very high PH that you’ll want to neutralize. Are there OTC/DIY ways to do that? I can’t wait to find out:) But don’t quite know...yet. My local supply guy said even he didn’t know a good product, but he is a sales guy lol and told me to send you here: Interlinksupply.com - Honestly, I would join the Truck Mount Forums FB group and hit up Rob Allen. Tell him what you’re about and see if he can send you a free sample of a pre spray and an alkaline rinse. Interlink is great but they don’t offer free shipping until you hit $350
@kylesuda95276 жыл бұрын
@@HawkProDetailing Through doing a little digging I found that Super Clean has a PH of 12.5 to 13.8. This is stated in their SDS. I also looked for the PH level of Bissel Professional Deep Cleaning and it's PH level is pH: 9.0 to 9.8. Is this still too high of a PH to settle with or should I be looking to bring this down? I will definitely check out interlink! What I am mainly looking for is a product to hit the carpets with to sit for 10-15 minutes before I extract with my Bissel solution. The discussion continues haha!

@@zacharyrhoden2499 So here are the products that were recommended to me over the last couple of days. Looks like this is the pre-spray you want (similiar to flex w/citrus solv, but a little less "harsh" on the carpeting and this one contains enzymes in there). Then I would rinse with flex Ice in your hot water extractor (that means put the proper dilution of flex ice in the water basin of your extractor prior to extraction): www.bridgepoint.com/products.php?item_num=CC18A Also, Try this encapsulation product. The guys at the store seem really excited about it. I bought a bottle too:www.bridgepoint.com/products.php?item_num=CC17GL Encapuclean is something you can mist on after hot water extraction to try and prevent wicking. Mad Wax thanks! I know that there ARE dedicated products for coffee stains, especially in the carpet cleaning world. If you have a hot water extractor, I would try a powerful pre spray like flex with citrus solv or bio pro 10k. If, after dwell time, agitation and extraction rinsing) it’s not gone. Then you might need something more specialized. Some coffee stains are different than others - in my research, for instance, decaf is different than regular coffee when it comes to staining. What do you typically use?

@@HawkProDetailing yeah I've been using Megs Tannin stain remover, straight out of the bottle, and it doesn't work well at all...really only works if it's somewhat a "fresh" stain. I've also used one called Alba-tan, which worked better, but seems to alter the color of the fabrics. My Megs gallon is running out, so I'm looking for a different one. I'm interested in those Flex products...I also do a lot of interior details. Scott from Dallas Paint Correction got me hooked on Citrol, and I use that diluted like 4-1 with water on heavily soiled carpets/mats, and it works wonders. A game changer for me, as all of the alkaline Degreasers and APC's didn't do much lol.
