I’ve heard those 458 Challenge cars before at the 2016 Canadian GP. There was also the Porsche cup or whatever it’s called where it’s rich customers can race themselves. The 458’s were loud, but the Porsches were on another level of loudness. As you walked over the bride to get to the other side of the track, you can look under you but you can feel the cars passing under your feet. Incredible.

In the beginning of the video, the Audi R8 LMS from the front coming in towards the corner sounds like a down shifting V8, then the back exhaust part of the car is purely V10 power! Love it.

Some very nice noises there, thanks. The two greatest noises ever made by a racing car, sadly, are ancient history. They are the 5 cylinder Audi Quatros of the Group B rally era, and best ever, the flat 12 Porsche 917 LeMans cars. As a little boy, I noticed that makers of cartoons and kids shows, and quite a few grown-up shows as well, dubbed every 'fast car' or racing car with the same noise, and quite a nice noise it was, too. A harmonic 'deep scream' that raised the little hairs on the back of the neck. But it took me another 20 years to figure out which real car that noise had come from. It was the 917.
