Yaay !! Encre Noire was my fragrance purchase alongside Armaf CDNIM, both blind buys. I still absolutely love Encre Noire to such an extent that it is the first thing I pack whenever I have to travel. Edit : Encre Noire is a beast mode for me. Lingers a minimum of at least 8~10 hours. Also if I spray more than 4 times, I get an "old leathery purse opened for the first time in years" kind of a smell followed by a splitting headache.

Nice review. It's not cheap brand only at discounters it's made cheap. The quality is excellent. Chanel Sycamore in bottle. Lalique is niche quality high end luxury designer perfume.

Love the Sport its so fresh and clean smelling and it seems to last well on my skin and the À L'extreme I tested for a week and finally got to know it and decided to pull the trigger as its so unique and the dry down is just class. I own all three.. And I have to say the original is on another level, but again it's hard ranking them as they're elegant on there own. Encre noire 👉🏾"The master piece" elegant woody smell. Sport👉🏾 "The classy one" in its dry down phase it smells exactly like the OG but weak/faint. A'l extreme👉🏾smells like an elegant wood workshop.

Yes a very sensible review. I find your assessment on the longevity to be spot on for the original Encre Noire. I haven't tried the other two but I will be headed to the Lalique boutique here in NY to see if I can get a smell... and also to look at all of the amazing crystal. I have been wanting to buy one of these fragrances so I appreciate the review!

All is good, but Chanel Sycomore came in 2016, while Encre Noire was already around in 2006. I'd be interested to know your opinion from female point of view (or smell, haha) what kind of a man (which type) would you see wearing Encre Noire?

I think encre Noire is for everyone just a casual with a bit of caracter fragrances, However as for Sycomore as I was working for the brand I can assure you that they didn’t took inspiration from Lalique and actually I found the fragrances very different, sycomore has more depth, more classy, kind of that mature gentleman vibe to me and much more smokier dry vetiver !

Hm, interesting. So, basically it’s a George Clooney type of fragrance (probably along with Givenchy Gentleman Boisee). I wonder what Elon Musk or Jack Dorsey types would wear - someone who made it big in IT; aged but still free-spirited; geeky, so someone who doesn’t really care about appearances, money or material possessions; can easily afford a rolls Royce but prefers cycling in London; workaholic - often sleeping on a boardroom couch. Minimalist. A guy who has 7 identical black T-shirts in his wardrobe, so that he doesn’t have to spend his time or attention on superfluous decisions. In short, a very weird (unique) and a very mixed bag. It would be great to do an episode - fragrances by job types (I haven’t seen anyone doing it).
