@Neonjer11 Жыл бұрын
You can't add 18v on the 12v system. You can only do 18v on the 24v and that's not guaranteed to work as the esc requires a certain voltage to operate properly. To much and you'll fry it, to little and it won't power it

@Neonjer115 ай бұрын
@@NusinkisTV you possibly fried the esc board. Input voltage is 12v on the original esc, not 18v. If you upgraded esc to the RX-30and had 18v to it, then you definitely had wires wrong.

@lestertipay2630 well the light if upgrading the system will need the voltage regulator. As for the led lights. The rollbar and grill lights(pia) are probably the same size. The smaller lower bumper fog ones are just single 12v led of your color choice

ever thought of going with rubber tires?
@Neonjer114 жыл бұрын
Yes, typically you would not want to change to rubber tires in my opinion due to the stress it would now put on the gear box. The plastic wheels kind of act like a clutch or slip differential like in an RC car. If you take that away any stress relief by the wheels will now be directed to the gearboxs. With a Safe start Weelye Rx30 or equivalent it does provide a gradual start which helps reduce stress to the gearbox. Tho it’s all going to be a decision based on your landscape. I personally like the Best Choice Style Wheels with the traction strip in the center. I added some metal pan head screws every 6-8in to reinforce the traction strips. Hope this help your decision.

You need extra 12v battery $25, ESC $25, set of motors/gearboxes $50 and 24v to 12v Voltage regulator $10. That will get you to 24v basic setup "without High/low switch". adding a switch runs another $10, but you can switch between hi and low otherwise its always on HI. Plus your time to add some additional wires for high/low switch and to run batteries in series to gain 24v. Everything is pretty much direct replacement except adding those 3 things.

You can get those all in a gearbox in weeyle style for the jeeps. 570 motors are little better but tend not to be in a gearbox combo unless you buying a Peg Perego replacement which are 12v rated. You can find 570 motors that are 24v Johnson makes them, you can usually get them online thru AliExpress just watch what rpm the motor is typically 15k-20k is good anything less will seem slow at 24v

I've got everything done except putting in the step down to 12v. I've see all your pictures and diagrams and I've watched the video with that part a few times. I just can't seem to understand how it's wired.I see you split the ground to have it for your quick connect. Does the power come 24v from the switch splice into the down step to 12 and then just place the other side of the wire on the output side of the regulator? where does the out going ground go to if this is the case? It seems so easy but I just can't wrap my head around it. In the diagram is power coming from the circuit board or what? I see the arrows but I'm confusing myself further.
@Neonjer114 жыл бұрын
Have you check the wiring diagram in the Google Photos links that has a basic wiring Schematic with the 12v-24v regulator I'll try to add a few more pics to the Google Photos link when I get home. So to Explain when you update to the RX30 and 24v all your current wiring is now 24v off that switch. You now have to remove the power (red) wires for your 12v accessories aka raio and lighting and run those to the output 12v side on your regulator. Then install a new power wire from the switch(now 24v) to the input on the regulator. If everything is set up right. You should have 24v to the switch. NOW WHEN ON Coming out of the switch will be the 24v for your RX30 and a new line going to your regulator dropping the volts to 12v that will feed your radio and lighting. Hope this helps. I'll add those photos of mine later for visual 👍

@@tiberius1837 that's weird they wouldn't recommend changing the motors to 24v if your installing a 24v kit. I know they have the kits that are variable voltage so you could technically over volt and dial in to say 18v and get a bit more life on your 12v motors before they toast out. Tho, If your over volting the 12v motors @ 24v you will eventually burn them out faster. 12v motors are usually rated 14.4v max. For normal operation. This is why I recommend using the stock parts made for the rideon and upgrading them to the 24v version made parts. I'm not saying ECPU is a bad kit, or that the stock parts are better. @@Neonjer11 well, here's their justification for it: "(Q) Can I upgrade the factory motors? (A) NO. Changing the factory motor speed can damage the new motors and ESC. If for example you replace the factory 8,000 rpm motors with 30,000 rpm motors you are quadrupling the theoretical final speed which is like attempting to start your car from a stop in fifth gear and will create a tremendous strain and cause parts to fail. You want to power up (volt up) and gear down or at least gear neutral. Changing the speed without changing the power is the same as simply starting a low powered car in a higher gear. You may gain a little speed but the low end torque is lost and this is very likely to overheat the motors and circuit board/ESC."

technically you already have 12v there. you could have connected one battery to the radio instead of using a converter...
@Neonjer113 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately this would now have you having to use 2 switches or unnecessary wiring to turn on your vehicle. Powering the radio independently would not keep it functioning as it was on normal startup. This would also pose a problem when charging the batteries as you would have to charge them independently at 12v instead of as a 24v, as each batter would be drawing a different rates. I under stand your view, tho it's not the best solution in my opinion
