Though some may be filled with dismay at this rendition of children's Biblical confusion, having worked taught children for many years, no matter how fine the instruction may be, sometimes the facts get scrambled. I thought this was well done, and though not meant to be a worship experience, it was real and teaches us all that our children DO need continued teaching and guidance to get "the story straight."

I agree with Brian. Kids need to be taught whats the real meaning of Christmas. They know some but they also twisted it. In my church, Id say most kids if not all will tell you true meaning of Christmas, they will tell you the story of how Jesus was born, what presents he got. We jave 780 members so we do have a lot of kids at our church.

I agree that they need to learn the true meaning I can say with absolute certainty that they are teaching the true meaning of Christmas and the church is not trying to teach the children that Santa Claus is the reason for the season. My kids hear this at home and at Northpoint so there is no doubt they are learning the truth. I suspect that most of these kids know what Christmas is really about and they were probably asked "what else" enough times that they started coming up with the funny answers they were looking for for this video.

dubzISme I can guarantee you right now that even though the kids memorised what the meaning of christmas is, they don't actually know what it means. They treat it like school work where they are forced to memorize it so their parents are happy. Come on now, you were a child before, you should know that nobody truly knows what it means until they are older and have a better understanding of everything.

Andy Stanley's churches make a point to wear jeans instead of suits and ties, and many of the band members wear hats. They do this to make sure no one ever feels out of place or judged when they come to these churches. "Come as you are." :) An old joke I heard: A man walked into church in his grubby cowboy boots. The preacher told him to go home and come back when he asked God what he should wear when he came to that church. The man came back the next week in the same attire. The preacher said, " I thought I told you to ask God what you should wear before you came back." "I did," said the man. "He said he didn't know; he'd never been there."

+Michael Jacklin I am going to go out on a limb and guess you have never heard Andy Stanley speak if your impression is "some jerk up front yelling and screaming". I frequently speak with my dad who complains that his church is dying because young people don';t want to come to church anymore. He then goes on to talk about how they might subtlety make someone feel out of place to get them to "fit in" and that sums up the problem of why his church is dying. I too once felt that the contemporary church experience didn't feel reverent enough but quickly grew to realize that the point of a church is to at the very least create a spark that leads them to Christ. The truth is when you find yourself singing the catchy little tune on Wednesday it absolutely takes you back to the message that was delivered after it. The church has evolved to use marketing strategies and if you are a Christian certainly you want more people to come back? You want people to come back because the more you hear the more you connect and THAT is the point. For those in the church who do their best to cast their judgement on congregations based whether or not their shoes match their belt, well... I think it becomes pretty clear who gets what the church's purpose is. Casting all of the thousands of people (myself included) that attend his church as fugitives from the church because of a hat or music style? That is the exact mentality that turns people off to the church and Christianity as whole.
