Yes, yes and yes. You pretty much said it all. I have had a Mira 9 for about 9 months and it has so many great attributes over the others. My first choice was maybe a Boss, but then soon realized they didn't turn out like their Marketing made them sound. And also, I have used AEON customer tech service, (EJ was in the video), he was the best and took 1.5 hrs to talk with me about dialing in some settings to get the best results. Just that call from a pro expert was worth a lot of $$$, but also call them every day for the next 5 years and you have saved some money. Danny wants you to call into the techs and ask questions. It keeps them up to date with info, helps the customer, and helps them be able to serve other customers too. If you do have an issue, it is resolved right away. Great company for sure. Oh by the way, I have not had to adjust, tune up, or fix anything on the machine in 9 months of owning it, and I have created hundreds of products!

Let me respond with YES, YES, and YES.... I am really trying to stay away from HAMMERING any other manufactures laser, that should be something that each individual grades for them self. AEON putting all the lasers in the same location for people to make the decision is genius. I wish I had had more time with the "management team" to see how they built what they have. I walked away from the experience truly believing they were the best in class for the price. I wish I lived closer, I would ask them if I could do more videos. I am trying to decide between the Aeon Nova and the Thunder Nova. I had the Aeon demo experience scheduled for the 2-18-23 and they cancelled didn't seem to care about my time invested into purchasing their product at all. I was also told that they wont be able to sell me a machine until June. This was very disappointing and makes me wonder if they are not going to be able to provide exceptional customer service and quality control of their product with the influx of sales. I am going to probably go with Thunder.
@GeorgeKennerLaser Жыл бұрын
Adam, this seems odd to me. Let me check into it. I have seen both machines and tested them, to me there is no comparison. The NOVA's for both companies come in different models. Which one were you interested in? Please e mail me at g.kenner@yahoo.com I would love to dive into this deeper.
@404_profile_not_found2 жыл бұрын
I'd be interested in a response from the other CO2 laser manufacturers that were demo'd to see if the laser chatter or wobble was correctable through a servicing or if it was intentionally induced by the aeon crew - loosening screws, unstable voltage, whatever.
@GeorgeKennerLaser2 жыл бұрын
You seize on a very important point! I do not suspect AEON did anything to negatively effect the outcomes. But I could anticipate this comment that is why I say "DO NOT BELIEVE" me go to the Aeon Experience yourself and see. I also did not show the results from the different machines for just this reason. In a past career I looked for "BAD PLAYERS" and I was very good at it. I did not suspect anything, in fact the TECHS that were there all wanted to get the best results from the machines. Send them a sample from your machine and ask them to put the same graphic on from one from their Nova Series and you can compare that way. In some applications the accuracy from the AEON Nova may not be that important.

From what I've heard, getting an actual person on the phone from any of the China machines is pretty impossible. Tech support is where they have the lowest marks. Also, pretty much all products that come out of China do not have anything resembling QC as part of the manufacturing process. This is one of the ways they get the price down. But this in turn increases the probability that you will actually NEED tech support, and then you are SOL unless you are good at figuring things out on your own.

Boss' is actually is 3X faster RASTER engraving due to their servo motors. Cutting speed is a function of available power.
@GeorgeKennerLaser9 ай бұрын
Not one to argue.. but according to what I have heard that is not so much true. Faster servo motors could increase speed but if the laser source is matched in power what does it really matter. As an example so people know , what speed does a Boss 100 watt with cut motors cut quarter inch plywood. Is tjat anywhere beyond the limit where servo motors would even come into play. Dont think so. Do servo motor really matter for cutting... ? Come into Laser Freedom in Facebook and lets see what the crowd has to say.
@cattleguardforms9 ай бұрын
@@GeorgeKennerLaser Servos do matter, sir. Respectfully if you're making the claim that servos are not faster than steppers than you should be able to back your own claim vs. leaning on what the 'crowd has to say' on FB. :) I have a servo driven laser and a CNC - and if you own one you'll see that at least 80% of most laser jobs is engraving. You only talk about cutting. But again RASTER ENGRAVING is where having high speed acceleration and motion (engraving or traversing from point to point) truly saves on production time - especially for larger detailed jobs. Epilog and Trotec -are the 'Mercedez' of lasers and I've owned a Trotec - their machines are outfitted with closed loop DC servo motors for good reason. One of the main servo benefits is for accurate, high speed raster - not cutting. Not to mention the control of continuous positional feedback and position accuracy. In all fairness there's several critical servo benefits being overlooked.

I am not one to kick comments, but it appears you “edited” your comment omitting some of the reasons that I commented as I did. Edited comments need different responses. Looking at your website it says you are located in Orlando , right up the road from Boss and the Aeon Experience, I would suggest that if you are in the market for a laser take a typical Lightburn engraving file to AEON and have them to run it. They have a Boss there for people to compare, fit and finish and actual testing. All I want is for people to get the right tool for the job. There are so many factors that go into a good engraving or cut. Smoke evacuation could in fact be more important than speed, a dirty engrave is just that. I suggest you look at the Aeon SuperNova both a glass and RF CO2 Tubes in one machine. With an iris controlled smoke removal system unlike anything I know of in any other laser in this class. I am coming to the ISA in Orlando in April, let’s have a beer, I will buy. Mike want to check that 3X faster come up with a max speed number and come into Laser Freedom and show me one of your engraves. Thank you for the additional comment.

I still think that you only need a Thunder or an Aeon or anything with this obscene price tag if you are in high production and you really need the speed, and even then it's not really reasonable for me to buy one of these, when for the same price I can get 4-5 Machines with the same area and power as these, granted not with all the bells and whistles, but I never use the bells, and barely use the whistles, like taking the belt off in 4 secons, in 20 years, the only thing I had to do to my belts, was tighten them, and so on! My 100W 1300mm x 900mm costed me $2600 with a rotary and chiller included!

Thank you for the comment, based on my experience the bells and whistles as you call them can make a difference for the new user. I have a Facebook Group called Laser Freedom, by all means come and discuss this there. I mean yeah sure, Aeon might be best with the given budget but comparing it to OMtech? That's apples to oranges... I can get OM with power and size comparable to Nova 10 and it will cost me 1/3 of what Nova 10 costs. Like da, if I pay 3x more for the (almost) same size, laser power and controller I sure do hope they put better lighting, rail system and whatnot... Boss is also much cheaper, (Thunder couldnt find the price right away but I guess it also would be cheaper). So that amazing experience centre to keep it with the car analogy is comparing the Ford Focus to Mercedes A-class. Somehow they missed lasers from more expensive companies like Trotect or Epilogue. Well, maybe they didn't want to show how Porshe and Lexus stacks up.

Most CO2 lasers will do the job, but some people would argue that the best results for a photo will come from a 10 watt or greater diode laser. But the Diode will be much slower. The message I strive to send in you can go to Aeon and test them all yourself. After being there I favor their machine (AEON) but I have not contracted to buy one. One Industry LEADER told me they wanted to see more in real specs, in this video. Who knows where this leads? All I know is that I heard some things that were NOT honest and because of this I went and researched, all the machines in one location. As I walked away from the "Aeon Experience" I feel like I made friends with the TECHS, and that they make friends with all their clients. If you are new to this industry, you are going to need more than just the machine, you are going to need support. Just my opinion but Aeon was impassioned about LASERS and helping their clients.

So the whole American standard wiring is likely the idea of awg standards being used inside lazers. So like when an electrician wires a house there is minimum gauge required depending on the amperage going through it. I know that those requirements are different elsewhere. For instance I know that aeon does that with the Mira where they rip out all the wires and upgrade them to at least meet the standards here. So if that is indeed what they mean when they say American standard wiring then I definitely wouldnt consider it a puff up or whatever the rep told you.

Agree in principle... But There is NO REQUIREMENT that the wiring for the MIRA be replaced as I know it. In a Facebook discussion I learned that all lasers are submitted to the FDA for approval and can not be imported without approval. I love the MIRA 7 that I just bough and when I compared fit and finish of this machine to others this was not only a Very Nice machine the controls were first rate. While in my shop, I got the machine to engrave on cardboard. That is being featured in my next video. My view is DO NOT TRUST ME... go to the Aeon Experience and see for yourself. Very Glad I went, I ended up with the right machine.

Here is my situation. I have been very busy lately and would like to go back to Florida and make a selection of the exact model that would be best for me. I currently have 5 Diode lasers in the review process ready for KZbin productions so it is not as if I am without a laser. Another company has also come on the horizon and I am considering going to see them, but that is not firm, I am still researching them.

The rail system is called a gantry. The American Standard Wiring is referring to US 110v plugs. Not European/Asian 220v plugs.
@GeorgeKennerLaser Жыл бұрын
As this was made for people just looking to buy a laser, "rail system" seemed more descriptive than gantry either way the message was conveyed, as you have so clearly proven by point this out. As for the America Standard wiring that was a term used by another company and unless you represent that company it's still up in the air as to what they were trying to say. All the machines I saw in this class plugged into a 110 power source and are approved by the FDA on import so of course they are all 110. Would love to have you come over to Laser Freedom on Facebook and discuss these things in more detail. There are so many things that are left "open" after watching a KZbin.

Come over to Aeon and test our competitors machines for yourself. LOL. What a setup this is. What a surprise aeon was the best!? shocking!

You know I do not kick comments, but really you have an opportunity to go see multilpe manufactures machines and you don't think that is a good idea. Even if you just see fit and finish? Come into Laser Freedom in Facebook and elaborate on why you think it is a poor idea, there are other people in there that have been to visit AEON, don't take my word for it. Cheers , and thanks for the comment.

Aeon 100 watt - $12,000 Boss 100 watt - $9000 OMTech 100 watt - $5500 Its an important part of buying a laser, cost.
@GeorgeKennerLaser Жыл бұрын
I agree cost can be an issue but if you are buying for a business, things like ' engraving speed" and Maintenace are "BIG ISSUES" I recently did a Video on the Aeon NOVA series without insulting anyone else's machine. This industry is full of "blind devotion" so to give others who watch my videos a good basis I suggested some questions. Even in the last year one of the companies who sang the virtues of a "top rail machine" introduced a belt rail machine, WHY? And they call it their best machine. I only want everyone to get the best machine for the job. The best machine for the job is not always the cheapest. What is the old saying? You Get What You Pay For!
@user-zq6pj5jo8j Жыл бұрын
Ok, So you buy the $5500 laser and get it home and it doesn't work. Now what? Warranty? So after that year of warranty and it breaks, Now what? No warranty, No support and good luck finding parts for it. They don't sell them anywhere. Trust me i looked, Ebay, Amazon, Googled the part numbers and came up with nothing. So your $5500 is now gone and you have nothing to show for it. I have pictures and emails to prove it of the $5500 laser's quality and issues.

Of course Lek did not design the building with a laser, if I said that I did not mean it that way. It really is a cool facility and I am going back soon for another visit.. stay tuned. Cheers and thank for the comment.

@@knightnight42069 So was I... you got to so see what they have done. They are clearly the leaders in this industry . The new Redline with the toolless mirror and lens removal will be copied by others. But they are the leaders and I have a feeling will be for some time to come. (Go see "The Experience/ Showroom" for yourself you will be so happy to see the people that make this all possible.

Honestly I thought its a really good review, but most of time yoi talk about Aeon and customer service. I think best review all those machines will do a job at same time result is the best review. I have watched other lasers job they also do great laser cutting. I also noticed Aeon expensive. My fav one is Trontec thry are great for making webinars and open with their previois or new clients as well.
@GeorgeKennerLaser Жыл бұрын
You are correct Emily was a partner but took a position as an Ambassador, I have met her and she is highly respected by all the Aeon Partners. The woman knows her lasers and is a very profitable creator,. I would call he a business roll model in the industry. Like all things expensive is relative, you almost have to do side by side comparisons of the machines to really gauge quality and benifits vs. cost. That is why I love what Aeon did making it possible to see all the lazers in one place. TROTEC is very nice looking laser but because of cost, it was not one I was interested in testing. It is also my understanding they will not run on Lightburn the software that I use. THANK YOU VERY MUCH for commenting. I do not pull comments it is not fair as people try and find the right tool for the job. CHEERS

Glad you liked the video.. It is very rare for any company to have the competitors machine so you can even visually compare them for "fit and finish" let alone do side by side comparisons. Cheers and thanks for the comment.

I am not upset you see things that way, the entire point was that it this "facility is available" for people to go see themself. I think everyone should do their due diligence, I did, and so should you.
