These are such good ideas. I want to make all of my children’s dogs and this will be very helpful. I guess a black dog might have shades of black, grey and blue maybe? Black seems to be challenging to get the contrasts. Thanks for the good tips.

Yes, blues really help with "black" subjects...as can purples.

Fab WW! Love the focus window idea. Much easier to see the actual color blend on the subject. Also the scale to weigh the wool for a consistent blend. I knew I had one of the Wild and Tame packs but found it was the medium so I'll be ordering the fine. Also found your 3 year old video on blending fur and am watching that now. You mention blending both the NZ Corriedale and the Merino Top together as an option. If I did that, would I cut the Corriedale to the same staple length as the Merino before blending?
@LivingFelt
@LivingFelt Жыл бұрын
It could be helpful, but I often cut after :)

This has opened up so many avenues to improve on my 2D portraits! The window method is one, and actually swatching my blends, instead of trying to guess how I got my color is a brilliant way to organize myself! Do you plan to sell those clips with the tags?

I lovbe how color is made and how you file and organize the swatches. If I haven't worked in a medium in a while I make color swatches ( watercolor/acrylic" and now felt! Basics will be found in any medium.
