मैंने हाल ही में Rode NT1a microphone खरीदा। यह खरीदारी मैंने पहली बार Raj Musicals, Delhi से online की है। मैंने Rode NT1a को Behringer U-Phoria UMC404HD में लगाया तो मैंने पाया कि आवाज record नहीं हो रही है, Phantom Power को on करने के बाद भी। जब मैंने Audio Interface, Laptop & Speakers तीनों का volume 100% पर set किया और mic. के पास चिल्लाकर बोला तब जाकर हल्की-सी आवाज़ record हुई। पहले तो मुझे लगा कि शायद Audio Interface में गड़बड़ी है या Phantom Power (+48V) का supply सही से नहीं आ रहा है। मेरे लिये यह विश्वास करना बहुत मुश्किल था कि Rode NT1a microphone में भी गड़बड़ी हो सकती है। असम के Beat Studio वाले भैया का KZbin वाला video देखा जिसमें उन्होंने बताया है कि Rode NT1a वाले mic. से record नहीं होने पर Mic. को Heater के सामने थोड़ी देर रखें या थोड़ी देर धूप में रखें। मैंने Mic. को आधे घंटे धूप में रखा तो लगभग 10 मिनट तक उस mic. से मस्त recording हुई, फिर वही 'ढाक के तीन पात'। मैंने पुनः mic. को आधे घंटे धूप में रखा तो फिर से 10 मिनट तक mic. ने आवाज बहुत अच्छे से catch किया, फिर 'पुनः मूषको भव' वाली बात हुई। मुझे Rode NT1a mic. पर बहुत विश्वास था और मैंने जोश में आकर Rode की website पर जाकर Warrenty registration भी कर दिया था। मैंने Raj Musicals वालों को अपनी समस्या बताई तो उन्होंने Mic. को उन्हें भेजने की सलाह दी। बहरहाल, मैंने नये mic. को repair करने के लिए Raj Musicals के पास भेज दिया है। यह एक संयोग हो सकता है कि मुझे faulty piece मिल गया हो लेकिन इस mic. पर से मेरा विश्वास उठ गया है। क्या पता कब धोखा दे दे। देखता हूँ कि Repair होकर आने के बाद Rode NT1a mic. कितने दिन टिक पाता है................

"Best" always depends on your budget but I'm using Sennheiser XS1 and Shure SV200 you can try both of these. Also I have some videos on these mics as well so you can have an idea.
