I had the "I don't have room in my drawers" dilemma... so I bought another set of drawers. 3 times!! Now I'm going through and decluttering as much as I can. Trying to really decide what's special and what isn't. I would love to have a collection of favorites. Coz if you have your favorites you're going to use your favorites and everything else just sits there. It's a waste. I've already decluttered so many palettes I've freed up an Alex 9-drawer. And I still have too much. It's ridiculous. I went from "oooh I love my big collection, this is so cool" to overwhelmed so much I don't even want to sit down and do makeup. So I had to do something. I'm putting some restrictions on myself, like one in, 3out type stuff. It's funny cuz I'll go through a brand (because I was collecting brands) and I'll only keep my absolute favorites. Afterwards it feels so good, like I only have my favorites from them now. I don't know what my point is LOL! Except I understand and am on a makeup journey myself.

Oh yeah and I love the look you did!!! I need to pull out my Melt palettes. I forget how much I like them! They did Smoke Sessions then Mari Jane or 420 and then 420 or Mari Jane, and then Smoke Sessions 2, and then.... and then... and then... 😂 My word and sentence skills would really challenge.... a 4 year old. 😂 Anyways, they did 4so far I think. I love the look you did! This palette is so deliciously grungy. It's definitely a favorite color story. Great video, great eye look!

I had the no space dilemma when I purchased acrylic organizers in 2020 for my makeup, versus the makeup bag I had . I realize now to set space limits for myself because the more space you give something the most space you have to fill up. In my linen closet I have a shelf for my makeup and half of a shelf for skincare. I am currently on low buy, only buying things im out of next year and allowing myself two eyeshadow palettes if I get rid of at least two. I would like to have half shelf for makeup and half shelf for skincare… the only way I see that possible is to use up half of my products up. I also heard of Project Beauty Share, I plan on donating a few eyeshadow palettes and other beauty products when I declutter at end of year. I kept a lot of products because I don’t have someone near me that love makeup to share.

A Court of Thorns and Roses is a wonderful series. I think after, you should read Throne of Glass series, I enjoyed this one more. I also enjoyed the fourth wing series by Rebecca Yarros. You don’t have to go cold turkey with a no buy, you can do a low buy with rules for each category of makeup. We are all just masquerading as adults. At least that’s what I tell myself because I don’t know who put me in charge of all of this important stuff 😂😂😂

Love this look. I keep my palette collection in one drawer and will not allow myself more than what fits in there. I've implemented a criteria for a no buy so that has helped also

Hey Cara! I know you’ll feel such a weight lifted when you finally do a big heave-ho and get your collection down to a size you feel good about. And I know you’ll do it in your own good time. You know what else? Everybody, no matter how adult and together they seem, every single body is stumbling through, day by day, doing their best to keep their ish together. I think everyone has imposter syndrome to one degree or another when it comes to adulting. So don’t be so hard on yourself! I hate seeing you compare yourself to others and judge yourself so harshly! Your eye look is sharp. Smoke glow. I hope you had a great time at the gala with Arielle. Melt is so good with deep grunge but it will help to grunge edgy with unique, eye catching color stories. Yet they can carry a layer of softness with the finishes of iridescent, foiled metallics, cream to powder etc. I have the Electrip and love this palette. I would love to see more shimmers in the same formula from Electrip for their upcoming palettes. Both the mattes and shimmers are on point for me. They need to reintroduce Mary Jane. Then create a sister palette to her. I truly feel Metallics are going to be 2025. High foiled metallic silvers, greys, blues, taupes, neutrals with some special extra whether wet look or almost glittery. I know some people dislike glitters. I can totally see glitters on a return. I was somewhere oh I know at a thrift. The clerk had an iridescent glitter liner on upper lash line into a cat eye. No eyeshadow or anything. It reminded me of my 2009 or 2010 circa. Nothing but a liner and mascara. Sometimes it helps to get someone not attached to our items to rid them for us. It is harder for us and we may delay the process.
