magnetic nail polishes are able to be manipulated so they can do a cat-eye effect, many brands do this, esp Mooncat. the effect can be stunning!

The lippie kinda looks like Melt's 710, that I adore. Looks great on you, too. And exactly -- the NM shadows give the impression of pressed loose pigments! I do wish their mattes were less powdery, however.

In regards to concealer right now, the 3 in my collection are the Pat McGrath, Sephora collection and hourglass. I will replace them once I run out and I definitely agree that back ups are not necessary.

For me, the thing that I am not purchasing is primer. I have more than enough in different formulas and all of that that I do not need to purchase any anytime soon. My other thing is highlighters because I have a lot of those that I have not even panned. Perfect example is what I have from Charlotte Tilbury. That thing is huge and the last, but I don’t know how long.

I'm here totally in love with Laura geller products. Their marbelized products are lovely...and my go to for makeup under 5 minutes on hectic days.

The Minka palette, with the discount code and shipping was $77.65, so pretty close to the original $79. I skipped out on almost everything else this month. I’m keeping track of everything I would have bought if I weren’t on my low buy and I’m doing really well. I know I’ve told you this before, but your makeup protection plan has really helped me. Now I have a monthly budget so I have to make careful choices.

Magnetic nail polish has some pigment in it that is magnetic. So, when you hold a magnet in certain ways around the nail, it pulls the magnetic pigment out and makes different effects. Some cause a cat's eye (like a tiger's eye stone) stripe and some can make the polish look like velvet/layered.

Still on my no buy however; Marshall’s got me today with Laura mercier translucent loose powder for $17. I was re up on my translucent powder at the end of year but they got me🤦🏾‍♀️….. No palettes for me. Bought the Juvias place coffee shop doing holiday sale and still haven’t tap in. I’m doing ok…. Ladies hang in there!!!…

Sitting on our purchase decisions and taking the time to decide if we really need/want it is a HUGE step for all of us makeup hoarders! I have been waiting on the Adept Samarian Sunset and Amy Loves forever, lol. I almost bought them both during the recent bundle sale and they are still in my cart... but I am trying here 😂😊❤

Sounds AWESOME. I'm 100 % w/ you on: -- foundation (have 2), -- powder (have NONE), -- concealer (have 1), -- bronzer, (have 2 and a cpl backups), -- highlighters (have 7 dedicated, and a few other in palettes/multi-use, etc), -- setting spray (have 1 GWP), -- e/s singles (have 3 + upwards 20 tiny/sample ones -- palette housed excluded), and -- mascara (have 1 opened + 3 backups). Additionally, I plan on NOT buying: -- e/s primer (have 2 + 1 backup -- unless replacing; might happen in one case) -- glitter glue (have 1) -- eye pencils (have nearly 60!) -- lip pencils (have abt 20+ -- on the contrary, to make the effort to use half of them up). Hopefully NO e/s palettes (have plenty even still untested, or just lightly tested). A maximum of 8 nail polishes (in a VERY long time; we're talking years ... I have 142 at this point; 5 on my WL), and probably not any (more) backups either. The only products I have on my current WL are some blushes, lipsticks & (squeeze tube -- only allowed component) lip glosses (have 10--12). Those purchases depend on future deals, however. Don't have a set budget, and my "rules" are to limit buying mainly to the BF period, and possibly a few more considerable sales. Overall to be very restrictive w/ what I buy, and at what cost. No declutter planned at this point. Cherish what I collected so far, and plan to get familiar w/, savor, as well as hopefully use some of it up. Perhaps a declutter will crystalize later on. LOVED this, it helped me overview a large part of my stash very clearly. Great video!

I felt like I was the debbie downer in recents months when I said I didn't want to add too much to my collection. 😂 I didn't set any rules for myself so far (outside maybe no blushes and no lip products) but I took pictures of my entire collection (except eyeshadows) to remind myself of how much I have before thinking off adding more. I want to use what I have without stressing myself out too much and keep experimenting so I can learn more about my preferences 😊

Loved this! Thank you for sharing what you will NOT be buying. I'm technically on a low-buy this year, but thinking of it as a no-buy. I'm committed to buying no more than 10 new beauty or fragrance items for myself total all year, unless I'm getting a replacement (1 in, 1 out). I'm clear on why I've made this commitment and what to do if I feel tempted. So far it feels very easy to stick to, since I know most things are an automatic "no" and if there's something I'm really into, I put it on my wish list for later. Also, not buying from my no-buy categories is renewing my interest in the beauty items I already own, plus clothes, books, and other things (including activities & experiences) that bring me joy.

I loved this, you look so cute in that jacket. I cannot imagine living somewhere so cold that two jackets are necessary. Is that snow outside your car? With makeup, I feel bloated, like I’ve eaten far too much and need to live on rabbit food for 5he year. I don’t need more colour cosmetics. Im going to try a very low buy this year, sorta like a no buy, but if I slip up, eh. However, I’m enjoying the product I already own so much that I’m happy to use it up and not bring in new stuff. I don’t know if I can sustain that for a year, but I want to try.

But profucts im not buying are foundations eyeshadow palettes from (exception for c beauty cause girl its so good) lipsticks blush highlighter brow products lipgloss brushes only makeup wipes will be brought and my go tp ones are actually from crown brush affordable and really good recommend them sorry im rambling but thanks for the video i started a youtube maybe we could collab in the future

I bought a backup of a holy grail foundation, Haus Labs and then I bought Dior Forever Matt foundation and now that is the only foundation I want to use, so the back up and first purchased Haus Labs is just sitting there! No more backups, at least with makeup! I already have everything I could ever want or need. Skin care, however, is a different thing but I still have ample of that too so I am for the very most part on a ‘no buy’ for the foreseeable future. I feel you!

No foundations, blushes or eyeshadows (I barely wear the eyeshadows I have now). Lip oils and glosses, only after one goes out. The hardest will be fragrances, but I find if I stay away from fragrance content it's out of sight out of mind 😊.

Replacement only, and that's only likely to be a cream bronzer and maybe a foundation this year. I also go through setting spray and primer like nobody's business but I still have backups for those floating around. I also get one palette per quarter but it's going to have to be pretty special to add any value to my collection

Thank you for sharing. I haven’t bought any makeup as of January 1st. I would like to last till July without buying any more makeup except replacements like mascara. I realized last Black Friday if Im patient I can get eyeshadow (my favorite) on a deal and truly decipher if I want an item months later to prevent impulse buys. I want to get to know my stash and push my creativity in combinations in 2025.

This was a good chat, and thank you for being transparent with us about your makeup journey. Im not buying any powders, foundations, eyeshadow singles, lipliner, eyeliners, or backups. I will buy blush only if it's a palette, and im only buying lipsticks from my favorite brands (Colorpop, YSL, Gucci), but it's 1 in, 1 out. I will always be a sucker for highlighters and the summers are too humid to say no to primers and setting sprays.
