@@ProjectFarm Please add a test to see how much carpet fiber is torn out by the vacuum brushes. I've bought various vacuums and some have abrasive brushes while others have soft brushes and a "beater bar". A beater bar is basically a smooth ridge on the roller that thumps the top of the carpet nap to shake the gritty sand loose at the bottom so that the vacuum airflow can then have a chance to suck up the dirt from deep in the carpet where the brush doesn't reach or make the carpet vibrate enough.

We have the Samsung Jet 90. The Costco version came with a charging stand and an extra battery. After a year of use, it still works excellent. Two things: the deciding factor was the self emptying station and the superior filtration. The self empty station really makes the process easier. I've had the LG A9 for a yr and half and use it daily. It's been a great vacuum. Mine came from Costco, and came with 2 batteries. The brush head really does a great job of resisting hair wraps and it does a great job in carpet even on low power mode. With both batteries it can also run a long time. The stand will charge both batteries too, but one one at a time. The battery in the vacuum charges 1st, then the spare in the stand. It's really cool, every time you need it both batteries are full. At its price point in don't think it can be beat. With the saving a small shop vac can handle the big junk and you are atill money ahead of the Samsung or Dyson.

While I know you primarily test tools, I think testing certain building materials would make for some interesting videos as well. For example: testing strength, flexibility, ease of sanding, etc of different commonly used woods. Many materials are known for being very good for certain purposes, but it could prove quite interesting to see those traits quantified. Just a random thought, great videos as always!

I used to have the Shark, because I wasn't willing to pay the ridiculous price for the Dyson. I have two dogs and two cats, and the Shark was OK at picking up the fur, but eventually I saved enough to pay the extra and bought the Dyson. It does a better job, and cleans up much faster than the Shark ever did. If you can afford it, or are able to save up, it really is worth the extra expense in terms of how much time it will save you and how much cleaner it leaves your floors.

The 20v stick vacuum? If that's the one. I can give it a instant pass. I use it in a school with a 6.0ah battery and the only con I can give it is the hose size gets clogged with heavy dust. It sucked up dirt,food crumbs, small paper, and orchestra strings and bow strings.

I was looking for a cordless vacuum awhile back and came across the Craftsman at Lowes. Figured I’d try it out and return it if it was a pos. Glad I bough it as it exceeded my expectations. They go on sale periodically so I picked mine up for $149.99. Included a decent charger and 2.0 battery, +another free 2.0 with purchase. Later, I picked up two 4.0 and “faster” charger for $99.00. Improved performance and run time;however, larger battery will make it top heavy and prone to falling over if you try and leave it in the upright position, unsupported.

Love my Dyson V8. Been using it for 4.5 years, and it’s just one of those “it just works” type of tools. It was our only vacuum for most of that time, only recently being joined by a roomba to make life a little easier. It’s also great how Dyson actually supports self repair. Since we are moving again, I took the time to order new beater bars for the soft and hard surface heads, got new pre and post filters, and replaced the battery. All easily orderable from Dyson directly and made the vacuum like new.

good to hear, sounds like a very repairable vacuum... I may look around at used ones and see if I can get a deal. I like fixing up stuff like that. my current cordless vac is just too weak, it's a basic 8.4v Electrolux. not even good enough to grab all the cat litter without it getting flung around the floor, and it eats hair instead of sucking it up. have to cut hair out of the brush roll after every week...

@@volvo09 it’s definitely a repairable vacuum. I'm a structural engineer and have done numerous concrete cylinder testing while in school and read many field mixed concrete test reports to verify my design strength to submit to the buildings department. I can tell you that concrete mix gets weaker if you add more water than what's in the pre-mixed bag tells you. Hence, w/c (water/cement) ratio affects strength of the concrete. Also, temperature makes difference in concrete placement along with many other factors. Therefore, I don't think Project Farm is able to test and compare pre-mixed concrete bags objectively since it requires mix, placement, and curing which has to be done in control environment along with licensed profession engineer overseeing the data for 7 day break and 28 day break.... It's not as simple matter as tools and other consumer products.

The fact that i was researching vacuums and though "i bet that project farm guy has done stick vaccums" is a testament to this guys dedicated to corner the market on quality product review content. No one else can beat him at his own game if you ask me. 10/10

I think the tests here show what my experience has been. I have used several of these devices in an attempt to find a good vacuum. For me the Dyson V15, which we have now, is by far the best I’ve ever used. We have 5 dogs and I vacuum twice a day to get hair and dust off the floor. I love that Dyson, it performs amazingly and is easy to clean. If you keep up on the maintenance it makes quick work of just about everything, every time. The Tineco doesn’t last as well as the Hart. I’ve had several others and generally speaking, they just don’t last. Dyson is $750 for a reason, it is as good today as the day I bought it. It’s the only vacuum I’ve ever had where I can say that.

I love Dyson and know why it's so expensive. However, is also the best vacuum I've ever owned and I've owned some very expensive vacuums ranging in price from $150 - $600 and I come back to Dyson each and every time. I have a friend who owns a Kirby vacuum and she stated it's the very best vacuum cleaner but I wouldn't know as Dyson is the most expensive I'm willing to pay and Kirby runs like $2K and up. Guess there's a reason Nintendo's pink mascot is named Kirby. Went to my next video and the ad was of the Kirby AVALIR 2 and when I went to click the link, to see the cost, it was $2.1K.

@@Cap1talNumbers Not true at all. The more independent tests done, the more data we as consumers have. Plus, PF not beings a Vacuum review channel makes me trust the results more. The chance that there would be a bias, or that there would be shady dealings is much lower with someone who reviews all sorts of different things.

This couldn't have come at a more perfect time. I've been considering buying the LG and it performed well in all the areas and comes in a bit cheaper than the top performers. I do like that it is the quietest and low handle weight. I've used a Dyson D11 and it tired my hand out after using it for a while.

I think there’s one key factor you’re missing on the cheerios and goldfish test. The Dyson has an adjustable brush head to tackle different levels of carpet. Had that been all the way retracted it may have done better in that test. Just something I noticed as a Dyson owner
@NeoteriX
@NeoteriX 2 жыл бұрын
Agreed, there are two "gates" that can be opened at the front of the brush head for larger objects-it is ultimately the compromise one must make. A head that has a better seal will pull up small dust and dirt more effectively, but exclude larger bits like cereal, and a brush that can take on larger bits like cereal will not have as performant a seal because of the larger openings. A manual selection is not a perfect solution, but is at least one that allows the user to determine which use case they are optimizing for.

@@lejoshmont2093 Even if you dont it is very easy to adjust the Dyson for it. Also usually for large objects I just use the brush tool or even just the tube alone. Not like we have cheerios just sitting around till vacuum day lol thats a spot clean.

@@lejoshmont2093 that's funny cause thet exactly why got the shark cause the food like cheerios from two young children needing to be vacuumed up and having one head that does everything quickly and efficiently is just easier than switching heads.
