To be honest: I would like to see the tests with a gpu 3070. 3090 is way too expensive:-) But thanks for the information. I think I was close to buy the KF Version:-)

Please don't buy the KF, that little igpu can give you huuuge performance when video editing! :) The reason I tested it with 3090 is to eliminate bottlenecks. The same was with 11900k and 5950x so all cpus have a similar testing point and can stretch their legs to most.

I have a 1660super and do booth gaming and video editing, will I ever use the integrated graphics in the i5 instead of my graphics card? I can still return my i5kf and pay those 50$ extra for a K model if the performance will be better than with the gpu. Thanks for a great video /Gustav

Taking into account that a b660 would already do the job of a 12600 k and that the premier doesn't do very well with overclocking, I think that this set of b660 + 12600 k is the most ideal and cost-effective set for a desktop edition pc.

Got the 5800x for $320 just after Thanksgiving. I know you said to skip it, but at that price point I felt it was worth it over the 5600x. Versus Intel, after factoring in the cost of B550/X570 motherboards vs Z690, and lack of DDR5, I went with Asus Creator X570. Maybe in a few months, Intel will be a better deal. Great video. Thanks!

I still wouldnt change my mind away from a 3900x. Intel 12th gen is still too new. Watch his video on the hickups with a new gen platform. 13th gen Intel would be a better bet especially since Ddr5 will be more optimized by then.

This is an incredible chip even when using DDR4. My Cinebench R23 single core score using the 12600k and DDR4 is 1927/Multi 17523. DDR4 is just fine with this chip. No need for the Gray Poupon DDR5. Good video.

modelling favours single core speeds, only in rendering and very few favour multicore performance, however I believe most people use gpu for rendering, so I don’t where would ryzen benefit. I’m speaking with blender 3d workflow in mind, I don’t know about other 3d softwares.

@@antoniocepaj7544 there is no performance difference between a x570 and a b550 motherboard. The main difference is the amount of pcie 4.0 lanes they have. If you only need 1 gfx card and one nvme gen 4 SSD then go for b550. I have a mini itx build in a coolermaster NR200 using Asus Strix B550-I , 5900x and 3080 Ti. I don't believe there is a TUF itx motherboard for B550

@@dogoku Nice build. ASUS TUF Gaming B550M-Plus motherboard is micro-ATX (hence letter M ). Only thing I'm worried is stability issues with such high end cpu on micro/mini ITX boards. I don't need any gen-4 lane besides gpu (that I will get most likely in next first half of 2022), that said B550 for me, should be good enough.

Wow!! I am blown away with what Intel came up with here! I am a Ryzen user but I'll soon switch to Intel. I feel like Apple and AMD woke up the giant here.. I feel like people slept on how big Intel is and how good their silicon design teams are.. I even think an i3 can beat that M1 max, the latest gen i3 12100T is 4C/8T with increadible single core performance!

Good stuff mate and there was a magic part. How did you get your PC to use both RTX 3090 and intel UHD 770 (iGPU)? Usually, the Bios disables the IGPU when a dedicated GPU is installed. Also wondering if it works with other software as well. 😊 Good vid and keep on the good work!

Very promising. I would be interesting to know how this compared to 11th gen laptops, especially regarding h.265 editing. Puget say that 11th gen also has h.265 hardware decoding so I wonder if with the latest version of Premiere you could scrub through say R5 footage same as with 12th gen.

Measure power consumption seriously. Full load is rendering for example, then gaming for moderate load and idle. Most power consumption is used at idle and internet browsing.

my old pc used 3900x and its really crap for adobe premiere pro, and now with 12600k + uhd 770 . even without gpu its editing super fast, super smooth.

In your case you probably should be using davinci resolve. It's also very much free. Resolve is more gpu bound and I find no hickups with my 3900x with either my 2080 or 6900xt

@@charlespinot8449 intel k and kf only have to do with integrated graphics or not. same chip otherwise.12 series is not lower performance but ddr5 has hiccups. my initial point is that a 3900x doesnt get utilized like it shoud for many applications.12c/24 threads is still quite alot for any app.

Not exactly a fair comparison against the M1 Max. Using a desktop CPU with no reason to worry about power draw or thermals and comparing it against the M1 Max in a MacBook Pro. Should've used a PC Laptop to compare against the M1 Max. Anandtech gave a much better comparison of Alder Lake over an M1 Max.

I would not recommend the Intel 12th Gen processors at the moment. There are simply way too many issues with them and the motherboards for them. Regular crashes is way too common and for gaming well, put simply many games will not perform properly or not at all with them. I would wait a while for these issues to be fixed. Until then I would still recommend a Ryzen build over 12th Gen.

Alder Lake is superior but more expensive. Lack of Budget Motherboards, DDR5 is hyper expensive, hard to find, need to spend more to cool because they get hot under heavy load. Sometime in Q1, 2022, slightly more budget Alder Lake motherboards will come out. All gonna depend on AMD putting out some serious deals to stay competitive until they release their next CPU's.

@@lonniebeal6032 i got mine fron newegg with 2 discounts i think one was blackfriday and the other was a $20 off with a code that i got in my email.. i think it was like $480 the cpu and 425 for the asus creators x570 motherboard.. And I'll probably by a old nvida quadro m4000 with 8 gigs vram its like $400 but for video editing and solidworks its the best deal i have seen in terms of specs vs 🤑 in this market ..i dont play games so not worried abut that.
